If your organization offers peer support—or you’re looking to strengthen the peer support skills of your staff and volunteers—join us for a Path2Peer Information Session on Tuesday, September 15, from 2p.m. to 3 p.m.

Path2Peer is a free, 12-module online training program designed for people who provide peer support through non-profit organizations.

The program helps participants build their skills, confidence and connections through a combination of online learning, facilitated group sessions, an in-person practice day and ongoing connection through a Community of Practice.

At the information session, we’ll explain:

🔹 How the training can benefit your organization
🔹 How to apply

The session is open to non-profit organizations in the Western Health Zone.

❤️ A GREAT COMMUNITY RESOURCE RIGHT HERE IN DIGBY ❤️

I wanted to share this for anyone in our community who may need a little extra help right now.

St. Pat’s Community Kitchen at St. Patrick’s Church in Digby provides a FREE weekly take-out meal of soup and rolls at 109 First Avenue.

There is absolutely no shame in reaching out or making use of services like this when you need them. That’s exactly why they’re here neighbours helping neighbours and making sure people in our community have somewhere to turn. ❤️

My wife Kristen is down there helping volunteer as well, and I’m really proud to see people giving their time to help others in Digby.

If you have some time and would be interested in volunteering, it may also be worth reaching out to St. Pat’s to see where they could use an extra set of hands. Community programs like this depend on people willing to step up and help.

And if you or someone you know needs other support, 211 Nova Scotia is an excellent resource. They can connect people with food programs, housing and homelessness supports, mental health and addiction services, help for seniors and families, income support and many other community services.

🌿👣Medicinal Plant Walk!!

Join Registered Clinical Herbalist Ember Peters (RHP) on Sunday September 20th for an exploration of wild medicinal plants growing in the mature ecosystems around Goldsmith. Through this walk we will weave together sustainable wild harvesting, plant identification tips, and learning through your own sensory observation. By learning to honour the plant medicines, we can inspire our spirits of community resistance and resilience!
