With more than 20 years of experience as a yoga and Pilates teacher and mental coach, I still find myself thinking about the trust people place in me.
They come to me at very different stages of life: during pregnancy, after birth, as children, later in life, after an operation, as athletes, or simply wanting to feel stronger, more mobile or more at ease. Each person brings different needs, experiences and goals. I’m grateful that they allow me to accompany them.
I’m also grateful to the teachers who shaped my understanding, and to the values I learned in my family and the culture I grew up in: look beyond the surface, understand the foundations and work with care. For me, yoga has never been about chasing trends. It is a practice with depth, and teaching it well means continuing to learn and meeting each person with respect.
I see it as my responsibility to pass on the knowledge and experience I have gained through my own practice and training. Through my teacher trainings at VOYA Academy, I want to help prepare the next generation of yoga and Pilates teachers—on the mat and the reformer—to teach with sound foundations and real understanding, rather than simply follow the latest flashy trends.
