Route to the Gauntlet-check in 3 ✅

I've loved swapping my van for my 🚲 and cycling to work a few times a week, helping build my cardio (& decrease my stress levels!).

This month, it feels like the plan is coming together!

Next goal is to work on the sled push/pull.

Is anyone else training for the Gaunlet? I'd love to hear how you're prepping for the hurdles!!!!!

Ps. Tuesday is 🦫 night, hence the uniform!

Our Physio Tamara dropped into the gym today to chat all things postnatal recovery with the MumFit class!

We hit two major topics that every active mum needs on her radar:
1️⃣ C-Section Scar Care – Crucial for a safe return to lifting. (For dedicated scar care, we always point our mums toward Katy Healy! ).
2️⃣ Postnatal Wrist Pain – Why it happens with a newborn, and how to manage it on the gym floor.

These classes were built in collaboration with our team to bridge the gap between rehab and performance, ensuring you can lift safely after baby.

Laura was the guest speaker for a pelvic health in the workplace conversation at the Business Breakfast this week. Taking place at the , this was a practical session - the party games, balloons and party blowers came out - and we had some brilliant conversations after Laura’s talk.

Statistics from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists show that 60% of women experience at least one symptom of poor pelvic floor health, and the most important thing to understand: just because it is common, does not mean it is normal. It’s vital to create an environment where women feel comfortable to share their experiences and ask questions.

Laura shared her notes on the talk via a blog (find it on our website) and you can DM us to get access to the one-page PDF with some top tips and suggested exercises and daily habits. The biggest takeaways from the BWC Aberdeen talk? Leaking is never normal and stay off google if you’re concerned about pelvic floor symptoms, ie seek proper medical advice as there’s so much conflicting (and scary) advice out there!

Meet Physiotherapist Tamara, who specialises in keeping young athletes moving safely and performing at their peak.

According to Tamara, the warmup should be dynamic activation of the major muscle groups involved in the sport or activity.

Here are the 3 dynamic movements Tamara recommends for every youth warmup (as seen in the video):
1️⃣ Feed the chickens– Focus on range of movement, not just speed. Can you touch the ground?
2️⃣ Good mornings– Wakes up the hamstrings
3️⃣ Walking lunge – Let's get the lower body warming up.

It’s rare to catch the whole crew in one frame, but here's (almost) everyone together!

Often, our Physio team and Pilates instructors are moving in different orbits as they run busy schedules, so there’s something special about having the entire ReformPhysio & Pilates family in the same space at once.

Whether we’re treating injuries or leading a flow, the goal is always the same: keeping you moving at your best.

It’s been an incredibly busy week at the clinic and in the studio, so there’s no better way to wrap up a Friday than sharing a 📸 of these guys.

Did you see Laura in the “my motherhood” feature in the latest Magazine? She talks opening about how her own challenges with significant pelvic girdle pain during her first pregnancy and postnatal pelvic pain, was one of the significant drivers for her setting up ReformPhysio & Pilates in 2000.

💬 “… my vision was to grow a team of experts while maintaining a supportive environment for working mothers; that remains a core part of who we are today.”

In the feature, Laura talks about how, as a society, we expect mothers to put up with so much, to just ‘get on with it’ regardless of the physical or mental toll. ReformPhysio & Pilates belief is that so much of what we experience during and after pregnancy could be improved with the correct support at the right time. We shouldn’t have to accept pain or dysfunction as a standard part of the journey.
