The Archie Foundation

The Archie Foundation Transforming experiences and outcomes for babies, children and their families.

Making the Difference’ for close to 100,000 patients every year, the ARCHIE Foundation provides all of the extras that allow an enhanced level of care for local children. We provide key staff posts such as the ARCHIE Specialist Nurse, the ARCHIE Play Leader and the ARCHIE Family Support Worker. We buy life changing medical equipment and fund specialist training to ensure the local healthcare teams can always provide the most up-to-date and high quality care. We buy toys, books and computer games, run art workshops and provide musical concerts in the hospital – often at the bedside of children who are too sick to come to our communal play areas.

Get together and support tiny lives 💜

This November, we are inviting you to host your very own Prematuri-Tea in support of tiny babies and their families receiving neonatal care across the North of Scotland.

Whether it’s a cosy afternoon tea with friends, a bake sale at work, a coffee morning with your community or simply getting together with family over cake, your Prematuri-Tea can make a real difference.

Every year, around 1,000 babies and their families are cared for across the neonatal services supported by The Archie Foundation in the North of Scotland. We help provide vital extras that make an enormous difference, from specialist equipment and staff training to family accommodation, counselling and practical support.

And it all starts with people like you.

Every cup, cake and donation helps us continue making a difference when families need it most.

Making a splash this summer! 💙

Working alongside the Child Development Team’s physiotherapists, we funded for seven families to be able to take part in weekly warm water pool session at Inverurie Community Campus over the summer holidays.

The sessions gave children with a range of conditions and additional needs the opportunity to build confidence in the water, improve physical strength and enjoy pool-based exercise in a supportive environment.

And it wasn’t just the children who benefited. The sessions also helped families feel more confident about accessing the pool together outside of the sessions.

One parent told us:

“It has been such a great session organised during summer holidays. This helped our child to access the pool at leisure which otherwise would need taking a break from school. Overall, the session helped our child gain confidence in the water and improve physical strength.”

We’re so pleased that our funding could help make these sessions possible and create a fun, inclusive experience for children and their families 💙

A huge thank you to the Child Development Team and everyone involved in making the sessions happen. It's only with your support that we can help make such things happen ⭐

The Archie Variety Show 2026 💙

Last week, 28 incredible young performers, 2 Spotlight Acts, 1 amazing band, a dedicated committee and a fantastic audience came together at the Tivoli Theatre to create something truly spectacular, and what a show it was!

From the moment the curtains opened, the theatre was filled with music, dancing, laughter and incredible talent, as our young performers took to the stage and truly shone✨

Each performer went on their own journey, from those first rehearsals filled with nerves to show day, when they stepped into the spotlight and showed everyone exactly what they could do. We couldn’t be prouder of every single participant, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring Archie Variety Show 2026 to life.

A huge thank you to:

🌟 Our incredible participants and their parents — for the commitment and dedication that went into making the show possible.

🌟 Our amazing band, Vivid Horizon — for joining us at rehearsals, providing the soundtrack and adding so much to every performance.

🌟 The Tivoli Theatre and their wonderful team — for welcoming us and providing such a spectacular setting for the show.

🌟 All of our volunteer hair and makeup artists (Jodie Griffith Makeup Artistry, Klaudia Lichman Makeup, Julie Beattie, Rebecca Carr) — for giving up their time and helping our performers feel like the stars they are.

🌟 Our mentors, Keira, Natalie and Ryan — for supporting our young performers, building their confidence and being there every step of the way.

🌟 Our headline sponsor, Phil Anderson Financial Services Ltd. — thank you for your incredible support and for helping make this opportunity possible.

🌟 All of our Spotlight and Rising Star sponsors — your generosity helped give our performers the opportunity to take centre stage.

🌟 Our incredible Spotlight Acts, Haddo Musical Theatre School and Emma Lowson School of Highland Dancing — thank you for sharing your talent and helping make the show even more special.

🌟 Our amazing hosts Laura and Alan — for keeping the show moving and entertaining our audience throughout the evening.

🌟 Our photography (Fat Man, Skinny Camera) and videography (TVP Film & Multimedia Ltd) teams — for beautifully capturing so many special moments and giving us memories to treasure.

🌟 AirHop Adventure & Trampoline Park Aberdeen and their incredible team — for their dedication to supporting our young performers and for providing us with such a fantastic space for rehearsals.

🌟 All of our Archie volunteers and team members — so much happens behind the scenes that our audience never gets to see, and we couldn’t have done it without you all.

🌟 And finally, a very special thank you to Cassie and Dan. Their dedication to the Archie Variety Show is truly incredible. Thank you for creating a platform where young people can showcase the talents they already have, discover new ones, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun doing it all.

Every bit of support for the show has been truly wonderful to see, and every contribution helps The Archie Foundation continue supporting babies, children and families across the North of Scotland through some of the most difficult moments of their lives💙

A huge thank you to Maggie, Vivienne, Amelia and Eilidh!🎉

These four fantastic fundraisers decided to put their pre-loved toys to good use and hosted their very own toy sale a few weeks ago, raising an incredible £409.88 for The Archie Foundation.

From sorting through their toys and deciding what they could pass on, to pricing everything up and getting ready for the big sale, the girls worked together every step of the way. Most importantly, they had so much fun while doing it!🧸

Friends going the extra mile for their friend 💙

We have been incredibly touched by the kindness and determination of this amazing group of boys from Holm Primary School, who came together to support their friend Lewis, who is currently receiving treatment at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.

They took on an incredible 40-mile cycle challenge, travelling from their school to Highland Farm Café and back, all to raise money to support the ward where Lewis is being cared for.

And what an achievement it was… together, they raised an incredible £18,975! 👏

The boys said: "We are really proud of Lewis and we miss him loads. We wanted to do something to show him that we are all thinking about him. The cycle was really hard, but every time we struggled, we just thought of Lewis and how he struggles every day but keeps smiling. We can’t wait to have him back at school with us."

This is such a wonderful example of friendship, showing how much one group of young people can do to make a difference during a really difficult time for their friend and his family.

A very special thank you must also go to Heather’s Heroes, who supported the fundraising through their match funding initiative, contributing an amazing £7,500 to the total. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support Heather’s Heroes gives to The Archie Foundation and the children and families we support. Their generosity makes such a difference 💙

A huge well done to every single person involved in this incredible challenge, and thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged and supported them along the way.

What an amazing thing to do for a friend 💙
