🌟 Celebrating our School Nurse Apprentice, Heather! 🌟
It was fantastic to see Heather Lewis showcasing her project at the Manchester Metropolitan University Public Health Conference – Community Nursing Showcase 2026. πŸ‘
Heather’s project explored supporting primary-aged children with anger management, looking at how we can help children understand and manage their emotions and develop positive coping strategies from an early age.
It’s brilliant to see our school nurse apprentices developing their knowledge, confidence and professional practice β€” and sharing their work with the wider public health and community nursing community. πŸ’™
Well done, Heather! πŸŒŸπŸ‘ You should be really proud of yourself and the work you’ve done.

πŸ’šWorld Su***de Prevention DayπŸ’š

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we're reminded that a simple conversation can make a life-changing difference.

Many people struggle in silence, carrying challenges that aren't always visible to those around them. Taking the time to check in, listen without judgement, and remind someone they are not alone can have a powerful impact.

At The Anthony Seddon Fund, we believe that hope, connection, and community support are vital in helping people through difficult times. Together, we can create a world where no one feels they have to face their mental health journey alone.

If you're struggling, please reach out. If someone comes to you for support, take the time to listen.

πŸ’š Every conversation matters.
πŸ’š Every connection counts.
πŸ’š Every life is valuable.

Access FREE su***de prevention training here - it'll take less than 30mins:

Expectant parents and families with young babies are invited to attend a series of free baby showers at family hubs across Tameside. The first event will take place at West Family Hub (Droylsden) on 9th September, with families welcome to drop in between 4.30pm and 7pm.

Bringing together a range of local services and support organisations, the baby shower will give parents the chance to access information, ask questions and learn about the help available during pregnancy and early parenthood. Visitors can meet midwives, health visitors, Dad Matters and Be Well representatives, while connecting with other local families.

Families can take part in interactive activities and baby care demonstrations designed to build knowledge, skills and confidence. Refreshments, giveaways and a prize draw will also be available, with one attendee winning a Β£50 Boots voucher. Further baby showers will be held at family hubs across the borough over the coming months.

The dates and locations of the Baby Showers are:

9th September 2026 - West Family Hub (Droylsden)
19th November 2026 - North Family Hub (Ashton)
21st January 2027 - East Family Hub (Stalybridge)
17th March 2027 - South Family Hub (Hyde)

Please spread the word far and wide and let any friends and family know that are expecting a baby. We look forward to seeing you there!
