💛 WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY 2026 💛

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we want to remind you of something incredibly important:

You matter.
Your story matters.
And you deserve to be heard. 🪽

Mental health struggles aren't always visible. Someone can smile, go to work, look after their family and continue with everyday life while privately feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or unable to see a way forward.

Sometimes, one genuine conversation can make a difference.

💛 Check in on someone you care about.
💛 Ask twice if they're really okay.
💛 Listen without trying to fix everything.
💛 Remind them that they don't have to face things alone.

And if you're struggling today, reaching out doesn't make you weak. You don't need to know exactly what to say. Even “I'm not okay” can be the beginning of a conversation.

At The Wing Project, we believe everyone deserves somewhere they can talk openly, without judgement, and feel genuinely heard.

🪽 You don't have to carry everything alone.

🪽 THURSDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 🪽

Grief doesn’t have a timeline. And you don’t have to carry it alone. 🤍

Grief can touch anyone, at any time.

It may be the loss of a parent, partner, child, friend or family member. It may be a loss that happened recently, or one from many years ago that can still feel incredibly close on the difficult days.

Sometimes you want to talk.
Sometimes you just want to listen.
And sometimes, you simply need to be around people who understand.

🪽 The Wing Project’s monthly Grief Support Meet Up offers a safe, welcoming and compassionate space in Bamber Bridge for anyone living with grief or loss.

There is no pressure to speak or share your story. You are welcome to talk, listen, reflect, or simply sit with others who understand.

The group is open to all ages and all genders and is facilitated by a qualified professional grief counsellor.

During our sessions, we explore grief through ideas including Tonkin’s Model of Grief, the understanding that grief doesn’t necessarily get smaller with time. Instead, our lives can gradually begin to grow around it. 🪽

📍 FLOAT Wellness Studio
Mounsey Road, Bamber Bridge

📅 Thursday 24th September (Last Thursday of every month)
🕢 7:20pm – 8:30pm

Our meet-ups offer space for conversation, reflection, understanding, connection and mutual support, with compassion, respect and confidentiality at the heart of everything we do.

🤍 Please help us reach someone who might need this.

You may not need a grief support group yourself, but somebody on your friends list might be struggling quietly and unsure where to turn.

A simple share could be the reason they find somewhere they feel understood.

You don’t need to have the right words.
You don’t need to be at a certain stage of grief.
You are welcome exactly as you are. 🪽

💙 MEN’S MONTHLY MEET UP – SEPTEMBER UPDATE

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our Men’s Monthly Meet Up will not be taking place this month.

We’re sorry to anyone who was planning to come along. We know how important it can be to simply have somewhere to go, sit, talk, listen, or just be around others, so we never take the decision to cancel lightly.

However, we do have something new beginning very soon. 🕊️

Next Thursday, 10th September, we’ll be holding our first Monthly Grief Support Meet Up at FLOAT Wellness Studio.

This will be a gentle, welcoming space for anyone experiencing grief, bereavement or loss, whether your loss is recent or happened many years ago.

There’s no pressure to talk. You can share, listen, or simply be there.

💙 Men’s Monthly Meet Up will return next month.

Please take care of yourselves, and we hope to see some of you soon.

🪽 MEN'S MONTHLY MENTAL HEALTH MEETUP 🪽

📅 Tuesday 1st September
🕖 7:00pm – 8:00pm
📍 FLOAT Wellness Studio, No. 2 Mounsey Road, Bamber Bridge

No booking. No pressure. Just turn up.

If you've been thinking...

"Maybe I should talk to someone..."
"I could do with getting out of the house..."
"I just need a break from everything..."
..then this is for you.

This isn't group therapy.
You won't be put on the spot.
You don't have to tell your life story.

You can simply come in, grab a brew, listen to the conversation, or just sit quietly for an hour.

The hardest part is often walking through the door. Once you're in, there's no expectation to say anything at all.

The group is facilitated by an experienced psychotherapist in a safe, confidential and welcoming environment. If you need extra support beyond the group, guidance and signposting are available too.

Whether you're the first person to arrive or one of many, the door will always be open. Whether 2 people come or 20, the conversation will happen. Every person matters, and everyone is welcome.

This space is for you if you're:
🪽 Struggling with your mental health.
🪽 Feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
🪽 Feeling isolated or lonely.
🪽 Or you're doing okay and simply want to connect with other men.

What to expect:
☕ Free tea, coffee & biscuits.
🆓 Completely free to attend (donations welcome but never expected).
📅 Held on the first Tuesday of every month.
🤝 A relaxed, friendly atmosphere with no judgement.

You can sit.
You can talk.
You can listen.

Your choice.

Because sometimes, one conversation can make all the difference.

If you know a man who could benefit from this, tag him below or send him this post. Sometimes people just need someone to open the door for them.

Some days, life can feel heavy.
You might look “fine” on the outside while quietly battling stress, anxiety, overthinking, low mood, burnout, grief, relationship struggles… or simply feeling stuck.

That’s where The Wing Project comes in. 🪽

The Wing Project was created to offer a warm, down-to-earth space where people can talk openly without judgement. No pressure to have the “right words.” No pressure to have everything figured out. Just a space where you can be heard, supported, and understood at your own pace.

Whether you’re going through a difficult period, trying to process the past, struggling with confidence, or you simply need somebody to listen, you do not have to carry it all alone.

I know reaching out can feel scary.
Sometimes the hardest part is sending that very first message. But therapy is not about being “broken”, it’s about giving yourself the time and support you deserve. 🌱

I currently offer: • Free 20-minute get-to-know sessions
• Online, phone & face-to-face support
• Flexible and approachable sessions
• A calm, person-centred approach
• Affordable counselling support at £35 per session

If you’ve been thinking about therapy for a while, maybe this is your sign to take that first small step. 🤝

Even if you’re unsure, you are always welcome to reach out for a chat.
