First Aid Training We only use trainers who are fully qualified, DBS certified and up to date with their continual professional development.

First aid Training Academy offers a wide range of first aid training courses to meet the needs of our individual customers as well as our corporate clients, including the First Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses. We also offer paediatric first aid courses for schools and nurseries, meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements, activity first aid and AED training. We deliver our first aid qualifications from our classroom facilities in Barnard castle and also offer on site training tailored to the needs of your organisation. All of our trainers and assessors have backgrounds relevant to our courses and pride themselves on being knowledgeable and experienced in their chosen fields of expertise. We deliver training that goes beyond ticking boxes, we make your course relevant, practical and above all else fun.

We have been in Middleton today delivering an Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry course to the team from CA Stamp Grounds & Agriculture, great team of lads who enjoyed the practicals and now are confident in their new skills.

Well done Darlington.

Residents, community groups, trustees and partner organisations have joined forces with Darlington Borough Council’s community safety team to install a network of lifesaving cabinets across the town, helping to ensure vital emergency equipment is available to the public 24 hours a day.

Our team have now taken over custodianship of 35 lifesaving cabinets, which have been installed throughout Darlington, including within repurposed former telephone boxes, making them accessible around the clock. The team have facilitated the installation of new cabinets and taken custodianship of existing cabinets across the town, making sure they are in the best condition when needed most.

The cabinets contain defibrillators and bleed kits, providing members of the public with access to essential emergency equipment before professional help arrives.

Councillor Jim Garner, Darlington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, said: "These lifesaving cabinets are a fantastic example of communities, organisations and partners working together to improve public safety across Darlington. By increasing public access to defibrillators and bleed kits, we are ensuring that vital equipment is available when every second counts. I would like to thank everyone involved in fundraising, supporting and hosting these important facilities."

𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲

Here is what schools in England must do to comply with Benedict's Law:

1️⃣Stock Spare AAIs: Schools must stock spare adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) on-site for emergency use.

2️⃣Training: All staff (including caretakers, supervisors, mini-bus drivers) must receive allergy awareness training, covering symptom recognition and emergency response.

3️⃣Dedicated Policy: Schools must publish a comprehensive, standalone allergy policy on their website (no longer just wrapped into general medical policies).

4️⃣Individual Care Plans: Implement structured Individual Healthcare Plans to properly record specific arrangements for pupils with serious allergies.

No child should be at risk from a preventable gap in allergy safety. These changes mean safer school environments and real peace of mind for families.
