Going for a quick dip when the weather is warm is a great way to cool down, but only if it’s done safely. The water might look inviting, but it can still be very cold. Jumping straight in can cause an uncontrollable gasp, rapid breathing and a spike in heart rate - putting you in danger within seconds.

GP receptionists are trained to ask the right questions so patients can be directed to the most appropriate service, whether that's a GP, nurse, physiotherapist, pharmacist or another healthcare professional.

GP receptionists do much more than answer phones, they have extensive administrative tasks to complete, like processing repeat prescriptions, tracking hospital letters, and organising clinics.

Across Cardiff and the Vale, receptionists are increasingly experiencing anger and frustration while trying to help patients access care.

The Surgery will be closed on the following dates:

Repeat Prescriptions take 72hrs to process (not including weekends or bank holidays) so please check your medication and order ahead of time to avoid any delays. Any requests made after midday on Tuesday 25th August 2026 cannot be guaranteed before the bank holiday weekend.

If your medication is ordered through a nominated pharmacy it is your responsibility to contact them and check your medication is ordered ahead of time. The surgery operates a zero tolerance policy and any abuse towards staff over the front desk or telephone will not be tolerated.

Learn how to protect your eyes whilst watching the partial solar eclipse!

We probably shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t look directly at the sun. Looking directly at the sun without the right protection can cause permanent damage to your eyesight – so you need to take care. Remember, your normal sunglasses may look great, but they won't cut it.
