✨ A little stretch, a little Christmas sparkle ✨

Come and join Melanie and me on Sunday 22nd November, 2–5pm, at Preston Candover Village Hall for a gentle afternoon to ease into the festive season.

We’ll enjoy a creative, accessible flow, make two beautiful Christmas baubles with Melanie, and share some lovely refreshments, including alcohol-free mulled c***r. A little time to slow down, make something special and enjoy the Christmas spirit at a gentle pace. 🎄

A little 4–7–8 breathing practice 🌿

This simple breath can give you a moment to pause, focus on your breathing and create a little space around anxious or busy thoughts. In this video, I’ll guide you through three rounds.

Breathe in gently through your nose for 4, hold softly for 7, then breathe out slowly through your mouth for 8. There’s no need to force it, let the counts be comfortable for you.

A gentle practice note: this version includes a breath hold, so if you’re pregnant, try a continuous, comfortable breath in and out for equal counts instead, without holding your breath. And if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable at any point, stop and return to your natural breathing.

Halfway through this beautiful walk, we came to a crossroads. One path was blocked off, while the other was open to explore and the views were simply tremendous.

It made me think about the crossroads we all reach in life. So pause for a moment, listen to that wind, take in the view, and remember how lucky we are to be alive.

This week in class, we’re exploring rebalance and the small things that can help us feel more grounded.

I’m sharing a little taster of coherent breathing: breathe in gently through your nose for a count of five, then breathe out slowly through your mouth for a count of five. Keep the breath flowing, with no pause between the inhale and exhale. In the video, I’ll guide you through three rounds.

You can try this seated or lying down, with your eyes open or closed, whatever feels most comfortable. If it doesn’t feel right for you, simply return to your natural breath.

I’d love to share the hopeful breath with you. We’ve been practising it in my classes, and it’s been really appreciated.

I’ve decided to share more videos of breathwork and other practices that might support you. I’m also letting go of the idea that I need to look a certain way or get everything perfect, and just showing up as I am, in one of my favourite spaces. 🌿

The hopeful breath combines breathing with visualisation. Take two big inhales through your nose, imagining yourself receiving hope and clarity. Then slowly breathe out through your mouth, releasing tension and anything that feels heavy or that you’re ready to let go of.

Repeat at your own pace, for as long as feels right.

This week in class, we’re exploring what it means to create with hope and to be active in the choices we make.

I took this photo on a recent holiday. Looking out across the sea, it reminded me how important it is to make choices based on what we hope and dream of, and what brings us joy. When we do, we feel more connected to ourselves and our souls.

What if we let what we hope and dream of guide us, instead of responding and reacting to what we fear?

I’m looking forward to welcoming you this week. In yoga, we’ll be moving forward into hope, making space to reconnect with what feels possible and uplifting.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, you’re very welcome. All the yoga kit is provided, your first class is free to try, and I keep the class size small so everyone gets the attention they deserve. We explore a different theme each week, with options to suit different bodies and abilities.
