Waterloo Care

Waterloo Care Comfortable home for residents with varying levels of Dementia. Waterloo House has 19 bedrooms and Avon Lodge has 15 bedrooms, one of which is a double room.

Waterloo Care has two separate residential areas, Waterloo House and Avon Lodge; both of which have their own communal lounge and dining room. Although residents are able to choose where they spend their time, and are free to use any of the communal areas. There is currently a refurbishment programme for the bedrooms, all of them will be decorated in modern light colours. We have 3 wet rooms with

showers and two bathrooms. Every bedroom has it's own private washing facilities and a toilet. There are no visiting times, we are open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We have a hairdresser who visits every week and residents can choose if they'd like to have their hair done. We're also visited regularly by a chiropodist. Every resident can be registered with our local GP surgery and our own Dr visits the home twice a week. We have a lot of entertainment in the home and have regular singers, dancers and exercise groups to the home. We sometimes have petting animals brought into the home and we've also had a puppet show, a wind group and various other forms of entertainment. ✈️ What a treat in the garden! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Our residents enjoyed a very special afternoon sitting outside in the sunshine and watching the incredible Red Arrows fly over.

There was plenty of excitement, waving, smiles and a few β€œwow, look at that!” moments as the skies put on a fantastic show above us.

It’s not every day you get your very own garden air display β€” and our residents absolutely loved it! ❀️

A Special Evening with the Stratford Morris Dancers 🎢

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful visit from the Stratford Morris Dancers, who came along to perform for us last night.

It was a very special occasion, especially for our resident Vaughan Hully, who used to perform with them himself.

There were smiles, memories, music and plenty of happy moments as everyone enjoyed the fantastic performance.

A huge thank you to the Stratford Morris Dancers for making the evening so memorable for Vaughan and all our residents. πŸ’™

Welcome to our January–March Newsletter - Read it here! https://rebrand.ly/ex6uurp

As we step out of the winter months and begin to acknowledge the first signs of summer, there’s a wonderful sense of renewal throughout the home. Brighter days are ahead, and we are already looking forward to the events and activities planned for the coming season.

From garden gatherings to summer celebrations, there is much to be excited about, and we can’t wait to share these moments with our residents and families.

This quarter also brought us a proud milestone. In February, we received a well-deserved β€˜Good’ rating following an unannounced CQC inspection. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care, and it is fantastic to see their hard work formally recognised.

We want to thank our residents, families, and friends for their ongoing support. For those who wish to read the full report, it is available online on the CQC website.

We look forward to the months ahead and to creating a joyful, engaging, and sunny season together.

⭐️ Team Fun in the Garden at Waterloo Care Home! ⭐️

Today, our wonderful Waterloo team stepped away from their busy duties for a little bit of light-hearted fun in the garden β€” and what a laugh we had! πŸ˜„

We took part in a fun parachute game, which had everyone moving, smiling and giggling together. It was a brilliant way to enjoy a short break, refresh our energy and spend a few happy minutes as a team.

Activities like this are great for:

βœ… Boosting team morale
βœ… Encouraging teamwork
βœ… Reducing stress
βœ… Creating a relaxed and friendly workplace
βœ… Helping colleagues get to know each other even better

There was plenty of laughter, lots of movement, and thankfully… most knees survived the challenge! πŸ₯΄πŸ’ͺ

A big thank you to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun and positive morning. πŸ’™

🐣 What a fantastic Easter celebration we had at Waterloo Care Home! 🐣

Our Easter Buffet Party was a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of lovely moments shared by residents, families, and friends.

The buffet was highly praised by everyone who attended, and a very special thank you went to Marie for all of her hard work in preparing such a lovely spread. Her effort helped make the day even more enjoyable for everybody.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was the visit from Good Day Farm, who brought along lots of friendly animals for everyone to enjoy. The animals brought so much joy, laughter, and conversation all around the home, making it a truly memorable day for residents and guests alike.

We were also delighted to raise Β£44 for the Residents’ Fund through our Easter raffle. A big thank you goes to our local ASDA store for their kind donation, which helped make the raffle possible and added to the fun of the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the celebration so special. It was a great day, full of fun, community spirit, and happy Easter memories. πŸŒ·πŸ°πŸ”πŸ
