THROWBACK THURSDAY!

Throwing back one week when we were at the Highway Traffic Management 'Staying Streets Ahead' event.

A fantastic day supporting the HTM Innovation Day as both a supplier and a proud XII Alliance collaboration partner.

Events like these demonstrate what can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared goal of improving the highways and traffic management industry through technology, innovation and collaboration.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase ‘TNA Systems’ - an innovative digital platform designed to deliver a paperless approach to administering training courses.

It’s been a privilege to work with their development team and contribute to a project that has the potential to streamline administration, improve efficiency and enhance the overall training experience.

Thank you to the XII Alliance and all of the partners involved for bringing together so many innovative organisations, products and ideas under one roof. Collaboration like this is what continues to move our industry forward.

🏆 Fantasy Premier League Competition – Winners Announced! 🏆

Thank you to everyone who took part in last season's Fantasy Premier League competition. It was fantastic to see so many managers getting involved and making it such a competitive season.

We appreciate your patience whilst we concluded the competition.

The delay was due to the due diligence required to ensure that all prize winners met the published eligibility criteria set out within the competition Terms & Conditions.

It was important to us that the competition was administered fairly, consistently and in accordance with those Terms & Conditions before any prizes were awarded.

After reviewing the final standings and verifying eligibility, we're delighted to announce our prize winners:

🥇 1st Place – Steve King – £1,000

🥈 2nd Place – Anthony Evans – £500

🥉 3rd Place – Sinan Kaya – £250

Congratulations to all of our winners! 👏🎉

Thank you again to everyone who entered, and we wish you all the best if entering any competitions for the coming season of Fantasy Premier League.

At Up To Speed Training, we believe accessing high-quality training shouldn't mean travelling the length of the country.

As the UK's largest independent traffic management training provider, we've strategically expanded our national footprint to make training more convenient than ever, with dedicated centres serving the North, Midlands and South of England.

Over the last decade, we've expanded beyond our roots in the Midlands to bring training and assessment provisions to the sector from our 3 strategic locations across England:

🟢 North - Dewsbury, West Yorkshire

🟢 Midlands - Birmingham (Head Office)

🟢 South - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Whether you're an individual learner looking to develop your career or an employer planning training for your workforce, our regional hubs help reduce travel time, minimise disruption and make it easier to access the qualifications you need.

The same trusted trainers. The same high-quality learning experience. Just closer to where you are.

And that’s not all - for those who prefer the flexibility of learning from home or the workplace, we also offer a growing range of online training and e-learning courses. This gives learners even greater convenience and opens up access to professional development for those who are comfortable with a digital learning environment.

Courses for the entirety of July are live on our website, and we look forward to welcoming you to whichever Up To Speed centre suits you best...

OFFICE CLOSURE - WEDNESDAY 1st JULY

Tomorrow our team will be coming together for our Annual Standardisation Meeting; an important day dedicated to ensuring we continue to deliver the highest standards of training, assessment and customer service.

As a result, our offices will be closed and we won't be available to answer calls throughout the day.

If you need to contact us, please leave a voicemail or send us an email and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible once we're back in the office.

Thank you for your patience and understanding - we'll be back to business as usual the following day.

UP TO SPEED FPL COMPETITION 25/26: AN UPDATE…

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who took part in this season’s Fantasy Premier League competition. The level of competition has been fantastic from start to finish.

We appreciate that many of you are eagerly awaiting the final prize announcements.

The slight delay in concluding the competition is due to us carrying out the necessary verification checks to ensure all prize winners meet the eligibility requirements set out in the competition Terms & Conditions.

Maintaining the integrity and fairness of the competition is important to us, so we are taking the time to complete these checks before confirming the final standings and prize recipients.

We’re now in the final stages of this process and expect to announce the eligible prize winners very soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and keep an eye on our social channels for the official winner announcement.

SUMMER SAFETY STARTS WITH YOU!

When people think about health and safety in the highways sector, they often think of traffic management layouts, PPE, people-plant interface and near-miss reporting.

But as temperatures rise, it's important to remember that health and safety also means looking after yourself.

Working outdoors during the summer months can present its own challenges, and taking simple precautions can make a significant difference to your wellbeing throughout the day.

As we enter the peak of the Summer season, make sure to:

- Stay hydrated - and don't wait until you're thirsty to drink.

- Apply and regularly reapply sun cream.

- Wear appropriate clothing and headwear where permitted and practical.

- Consider UV-protective eyewear.

- Eat regularly to help maintain energy levels.

- Take breaks in shaded areas whenever possible.

- Look out for colleagues and be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Our road network keeps the country moving, but that can only happen when the workforce is safe and able to perform.

This Summer, remember that health and safety doesn't start and end with the technical requirements of a scheme. It's vital our people are looked after, and that they do all they can to look after themsleves.

Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Stay Up To Speed.

June course dates are now live across all three Up To Speed Training centres:

> Birmingham

> Dewsbury, West Yorkshire

> Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

It's also worth remembering that, following the removal of the NHSS12 grace period at the beginning of April for expired qualifications, allowing qualifications to lapse could mean significantly more training is required to regain competency
So...

How do you choose the right training provider?

When it comes to training, cost and convenience are only part of the picture.
We believe the right provider should offer far more than just a certificate at the end of the day.

Things to consider include:

1) Accreditations and recognised quality standards
2) Experienced trainers who understand real industry challenges
3) A proven track record and learner feedback
4) Quality facilities and a positive learning environment
5) Ongoing support before, during and after your course

At Up To Speed Training, we believe training should be about genuine learning, confidence and long-term value - not just ticking a box.

We’ve shared our thoughts on what businesses and learners should look for when choosing a provider:

We recently received this message from a learner, and it’s safe to say it meant a lot to the whole team here at Up To Speed Training.

Taking the time to send feedback like this isn’t something we ever take for granted. To know that what we strive for as a business is not only seen, but truly felt by the people we support, is incredibly rewarding.

From the learning environment and facilities, to the support provided throughout the journey, right through to the quality of our trainers - this is exactly the experience we aim to deliver across each and every course.

We’re very intentional about what we do and how we do it, so hearing feedback like this is both humbling and motivating in equal measure.

A huge thank you to everyone who takes the time to share their experience with us - it drives us forward to keep providing the very best experience we can for all of our learners.

EXPIRY OF NHSS12 POST-EXPIRY GRACE PERIOD: THE DATE IS ALMOST HERE!

Over the last couple of months, you might have noticed we've been very vocal about the removal of the NHSS12 post-expiry grace period for expired qualifications.

The grace period is no more as of 31st March 2026.

From 1 April 2026, the rules on qualification renewals change and there will be no grace period at all.

If a qualification expires:

⏰ It’s expired

❌ Renewal will no longer be an option

🔄 The learner will have to start from scratch

We've shared this update on more than one occasion to ensure you're aware of this change, and this is another reminder not to leave it too late.

Don't get caught out!

✅ Check expiry dates now

✅ Plan renewals early

✅ Avoid unnecessary downtime and retraining
