🗣️ National Patient Participation Week – Get Involved!

It’s National Patient Participation Week, and we’d love more of our patients to get involved in shaping how our surgery works.

Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients, carers and practice staff who meet to discuss how services are working and how we can improve them. It’s a great way to:

Share your ideas and feedback
Help us improve access and patient experience
Support the practice to meet the needs of our community
If you’re interested in joining or finding out more, please:
👉 Speak to reception and ask about the Patient Participation Group
or
👉 Visit our practice website and complete the PPG sign‑up form

Every GP practice should have a PPG, and your voice really can make a difference. You can also read more about PPGs on NHS England here:

Bladder Cancer Awareness Month 💛

This Bladder Cancer Awareness Month, we’re helping to raise awareness of key symptoms and the importance of getting checked.

If you notice any of the following, please contact the surgery so we can assess you appropriately:

➡Blood in your urine (even once, and even if it’s painless)
➡Needing to pass urine very often or urgently
➡Pain or discomfort when passing urine

These symptoms are usually caused by something other than cancer, but it’s important not to ignore them so that any underlying problem can be picked up and managed early.

For more general information about cancer awareness and early diagnosis, you can visit NHS England’s cancer pages:

Skin Cancer Awareness Month ☀️

As we head into the sunnier months, we’re supporting Skin Cancer Awareness Month by reminding everyone to take simple steps to protect their skin:

💛Use SPF 30 or higher , and reapply regularly, especially after swimming or sweating
💙Wear hats, sunglasses and cover up where you can
💚Try to avoid the strongest sun (usually 11am–3pm)
💜Check your skin regularly and speak to a GP if you notice any new or changing moles or patches on your skin

Early detection of skin cancer can make a real difference to treatment options and outcomes, so please don’t ignore changes that are unusual for you.
