💙 National Diabetes Week – Let’s Talk About Your Eye Screening Experience 💙
Your diabetic eye screening is an important part of protecting your sight.
To get the clearest view of your retina, we use eye drops to dilate your pupils. This helps us detect changes early and reduces the chance of needing a repeat appointment.

👁️ What to expect:
The drops may sting briefly, but this passes quickly
Your vision may be blurred for 4–6 hours after your appointment
Your eyes may feel more sensitive to light

🚫 Important reminders:
Do not drive after your appointment
Bring sunglasses to keep your eyes comfortable

National Diabetes Week 2026

8 out of 10 people living with diabetes say they’ve faced negative attitudes because of their diabetes - people passing judgement, making sweeping statements, or blaming and shaming people living with diabetes.

This is diabetes Stigma and it causes real harm to millions.

To show people that nobody chooses diabetes. That it isn’t anyone’s fault. And that by changing the way we talk about diabetes, together we can create a world where diabetes does no harm.
