We've all heard it!
Just because there's no legal maximum working temperature in the UK, doesn't mean employers can ignore risks that come with working in extreme heat.
Heat is a workplace hazard.
Just like working at height, manual handling or noise exposure - it needs assessing, controlling and managing properly.
That means:
💧 Providing access to water
🕶️ Allowing regular breaks
🌤️ Adjusting work where possible
⚠️ Making workers aware of heat exhaustion symptoms
📝 Carrying out suitable risk assessments
As temperatures rise year after year, businesses need workers who can spot hazards, understand risks, and work safely in changing conditions.
That’s exactly what our IOSH courses are designed to do.
