June is Cataract Awareness Month 🙌
We’re joining Sight Research UK to raise awareness about cataracts. 65% of people diagnosed with cataracts had no idea they had the condition!
Cataracts form when the lens inside your eye, which is usually clear, starts becoming cloudy. Over time, this can grow, leading to blurry or misty vision and, in very severe cases, even blindness.
The good news. We are able to detect early cataracts through your routine eye examination. Sometimes even a simple update to your prescription can make all the difference. If not, then thankfully, treatment is readily available. In fact, surgery to remove cataracts is the most common operation in the NHS.
