I haven't got a rubber stamp for the orlaya seeds. I am hand writing the packets with Blood Orange ink, using a 1950s flex nib pen...you don't get that at Thompson and Morgan!! 😉

Hi folks… After a long couple of weeks of paperwork we’re very happy to confirm that we are open as normal 4 days a week this month! We’re hoping that by the end of September we’ll be back to the normal Wednesday-Sunday routine, and will confirm this ASAP 🍻

Please note that we’re open early from 11am for the lunchtime Cardiff City match on the 19th, but we won’t be able to open for the Tuesday evening match on the 8th ⚽️

I have been preparing this 20 square meter bed at the village church. We chopped and dropped the biennials and annuals, and then squished it down for several weeks with a tarpaulin. I'm covering it with a thickish layer of compost...yes, its expensive to do this. As long as you have a clear w**d free bed with soil raked to a tilth you don't need to do this. It will have taken a whopping 720 litres of compost. The future gardener will thank me.
The sowing window for hardy annuals is now open. I shall sow this bed tomorrow. The first fortnight of September is usually best. The second fortnight is usually fine. Some crazy mavericks sow right up to Halloween...especially down Cornwall way.
The 60g autumn mix is still half price in the Higgledy seed shop of dreams.

Echinacea deep rose. Flowering in the first year...but just three flowers on the plant. There will be dozens next year.
