This week is Alcohol Awareness Week, running from 6–12 July 2026, with the theme “Alcohol and me.”
For many people, alcohol starts as something social, something to relax, something to cope but for some, it slowly becomes something that takes over. It affects health, families, relationships, work, housing, mental wellbeing and self-worth.
At Reflections, we know recovery is possible because we see it every day. We also know that lived experience matters. People who have walked through addiction and come out the other side can offer hope, honesty and understanding in a way that cannot be taught from a textbook.
This week is not about judgement. It is about starting conversations, reducing shame, and helping people understand their own relationship with alcohol.
If alcohol is causing problems in your life, or in the life of someone you care about, please reach out. You are not alone, and support is available.
Recovery starts with one honest conversation.
