Meet Bri ❤️

I had the pleasure of sitting down and having a proper chat with Bri tonight. He told me he’s been walking the streets of Doncaster for around 17 years.

We had a coffee, a bit of food and a good chat about life. We even ended up talking about my home village and what it was like back in the old days when I was growing up.

What struck me most was what a genuinely lovely man he is. Behind every person you see on the street is a story, a life and a human being who deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect.

We’re going to get Bri hooked up with some new trainers, clean clothes and a care package and, more importantly, keep that conversation going and see what support we can help connect him with.

Sometimes it starts with something as simple as a coffee, some food and somebody taking the time to listen.

This is what community is about. People helping people, without judgement.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that we have raised an amazing £5,330 for the Fresh Start Community Hub.

A massive thank you to every single person who took the time to read about our project, donate, share our story and support what we are trying to achieve.

Another fun event happening next Sunday!

David is taking on the challenge of restoring a Centurion helmet that has been left to rust for the past 16 years.

It has now been almost completely stripped down, ready for the replacement panels to be carefully stencilled, cut and welded into place. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but it’s already well on its way to being brought back to life!

Another brilliant day at The Unit! 🙌

The lads brought plenty of energy and enthusiasm to today’s session, getting stuck in from the moment they arrived and giving every activity their best effort.

It was great to see everyone working together, supporting one another and developing their confidence while learning new skills. There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout, with plenty of hard work, laughter and positive energy.

A thoroughly enjoyable and productive day—massive well done to everyone involved! 👏

Today, our art therapy session became an inspiring day out as we visited Leeds Art Gallery.

For some of the lads, it was their first time visiting an art gallery, while others were excited to see works by renowned local artists, including John Atkinson Grimshaw and Henry Moore.

He's back out again.... Kian Hamilton.... Let's get behind him as he climbs up the ranks in pro boxing. This will be his first 6round fight and I know for sure he willl put on a show.

A huge shoutout to all the lads who continue to give their time, energy and commitment volunteering down at Lock Lane Gardens.

They’re there every Tuesday and Thursday, working hard to keep the gardens looking their best, but their dedication goes well beyond the usual sessions. Over the recent hot weeks, they’ve also been making sure the animals are fed and the plants are watered and looked after.

There’s loads happening at the moment too, including the restoration of the Roman head and helmet, the aviary project, and creating new animal feeders, alongside plenty of other jobs around the gardens.

It’s fantastic to see the pride, teamwork and commitment everyone puts into helping such a brilliant community space.

And we’re nowhere near finished yet… there’s plenty more planned for the autumn!

Well done to everyone involved. Your hard work really does make a difference.
