Realistic emotional regulation starts with developing the capacity to observe what's happening, even while we're in it. And yes, that's annoying as f*ck. When I'm emoting, don't WANT to "observe" anything— I want to emote. But just start experimenting with it. You're the observer.

My furry assistant is helping me prepare the therapy room for the day 😊

Hoping to be able to able to keep some of the heat out, but I'm starting to wonder whether to just meet people in the sea/woodlands instead, its going to be toasty this week.. 🙃

A lot of sh*t in trauma recovery doesn't begin to fall into place until we start thinking in terms of "parts of us."

Parts work isn't just about Dissociative Identity Disorder. Trauma very often splinters us inside— & we had to compartmentalize to SURVIVE.
