We had such a fun morning with Mark from Frederick Douglas Care Home Entertainment, who got us all moving in the most colourful way 💜

With bubbles floating about and bright garlands, our residents were soon laughing away as they tried to catch and tap the bubbles. It didn’t feel like exercise at all, just lots of giggles and a bit of light hearted competition.

We finished things off the best way we know how, with a cuppa and a biscuit, chatting about our favourite moments from the morning 😋

It was so lovely to see Tessa Collitt Music back with us again at Wickham House 💜

After a delicious fish and chip lunch, our residents were full of energy and ready for an afternoon that quickly turned into something really special. The music started and before long there was plenty of singing, smiles and a few dance moves joining in too.

We all had such a wonderful time together and our residents are already looking forward to welcoming Tessa back again soon.🎵

As summer comes to an end, we’re looking back at some of our August highlights across Gold Care Homes ☀️💜

With plenty of summer sunshine, our homes found ways to enjoy the summer while keeping cool, with ice creams and ice cream van visits proving particularly popular! 🍦

We also put the kettle on for Afternoon Tea Week, enjoyed some well-earned downtime for National Relaxation Day and made the most of the Summer Bank Holiday.

🎶 Andy Vocals brought the music to Wickham Care Home , and what a brilliant afternoon we had!

We had planned a nice, chilled out afternoon, but it did not take long before the song requests started coming in 😂 Before we knew it, our residents and team were up on their feet dancing along to all the lively favourites 🕺🏿💜

We had some very special little visitors at our home when Lucy’s Pomeranians Essex came to see us 🐶

There were plenty of oohs and smiles as our residents and team enjoyed a cuddle or two with the tiniest Pomeranian puppies. They were an instant hit, and it didn’t take long before everyone had their favourite 💜

It was lovely to hear all the stories that came out too, as the puppies brought back such fond memories of family pets and the joy they bring into our lives 🤗

Afternoon Tea Week was the perfect excuse for a lovely afternoon at Wickham Care Home ! We started with a good old singalong, which soon had everyone joining in 🎶🎤

Then it was time for the important part… tea and cake! Our wonderful residents enjoyed homemade fairy cakes kindly donated by Kim, a friend from the village, alongside Cherry Bakewells, Chocolate Swiss Roll and Battenberg. We all agreed that tea simply tastes better from a fine china cup! 🫖☕️🧁

We had such a lovely afternoon out with our residents, making the most of some time in the local community 💜

Ron enjoyed the day with his son Noel and his wife, alongside David and Helen, starting with a “Soup & Roll” at St Andrews Church in Hatfield Peverel. The homemade soups and cakes went down a treat, with plenty of chats over a warm cuppa 🍲🥖☕️

We then headed over to Boreham Village Hall for “Singing for the Brain” with the Alzheimer's Society , where everyone joined in with familiar songs and big smiles. It was one of those afternoons filled with good food, music, and lots of laughter 🎶

There was only one way to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day at Wickham Care Home ... with plenty of delicious cookies, of course! 🍪💜

Our wonderful residents and team enjoyed sampling a selection of dark, milk and white chocolate chip cookies, and after plenty of taste testing, everyone agreed on one thing... they were all absolutely delicious! There were lots of happy faces as we enjoyed our sweet treats together with a cup of tea ☕😊

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.
