Blue-Conker Welcome to Blue Conker, where we're dedicated to supporting individuals in organising their lives.

When did being capable start costing you yourself?

It probably didn’t happen all at once.

You said yes because it was easier.

You took responsibility because you knew it would get done.

You stopped bringing something up because you didn’t want another argument.

You adapted. Organised. Smoothed things over. Kept everyone moving.

And because you were still functioning, nobody noticed that you were slowly disappearing from your own life.

Perhaps not even you.

Until one day, someone asked what you wanted and you genuinely didn’t know.

That is often where the Roots to Rise® work begins.

Not with a dramatic breakdown.

With the quiet recognition that being the person who holds everything together has come at a cost.

Does this feel familiar?

Nearly There But Feeling Completely Frazzled

Its not just hot outside, I'm also hearing lots about the internal thermostats that are heating up in the run up to the end of term and summer holidays!

Whether you're a parent, teacher, teenager or service provider these looming deadlines can really impact the internal narrative and stress.

With a hosepipe ban in place here in Colchester finding ways to cool down for adults and kids can be even harder. I've heard many say they're going to the supermarket just for the air conditioning!

But what if you could find a way to settle those internal stressors just by creating a 90min slot to breathe, relax and let the mind and body catch up with itself?

That's exactly what the Friday night Defrazzle aims to do.

Our Defrazzle session is a time to slow everything down. A time to create a sense of calm and more importantly a time to switch off, so that the mind and body have space to realign and reset...a place to imagine the internal cooling system kicking in again.

Sessions run in three distinct parts: Trance Meditation; Creative Expression; Thoughtful Reflection and there is zero exception that you have to share openly in the group about what comes up for you...but you can if you want.

We invite participants to wear comfortable clothing for lying or sitting down on a mat or chair. All equipment is provided though sometimes participants prefer to bring their own mat or notebook.

From teen* to adult all welcome to our Defrazzle sessions regardless of gender, race, or religious beliefs. Our Defrazzle sessions are designed for you to take what works for you and to gently and respectfully park what does not serve.

If you have any specific access needs please do contact me in advance so I can assess what Reasonable Adjustments I am able make.

*Teens will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult inline with our T& C's and Safeguarding policies.

DEFRAZZLE - Why We Need to Reconnect With Ourselves Before We Burn Out

Unsurprisingly I talk a lot about self-care....yet most of us are still trying to squeeze it in after everything else is done.

After the work, the endless messages we still need to answer, the shopping thats still needs doing. After the children, the parents, the partners, the clients, the emails, the life admin and lets not forget the washing that appears to breed when nobody is looking.

By Friday night, it is no wonder so many people reach for wine or two while scrolling, stuffing in snacks or binging Netflix as a way to switch off.

I get it. I do it too - minus the drink!

Sometimes you just want something that marks the end of the week and says, “Right, I am done now.”

The problem is that many of the things we use to switch off, do not actually help us reconnect with ourselves. They just numb the noise for a while, but they don't always restore us.

That is the heart of Defrazzle.

These Friday night sessions are not therapy. They're not religion.
Nor are they another thing to achieve.

The Defrazzle is just a warm, creative Friday evening space to help tired minds and bodies unwind, reconnect with self and ease into the weekend a little lighter than when they arrived.

I honestly feel we all need it.

The Health and Safety Executive reported that in Great Britain in 2024/25, 964,000 workers were suffering from work-related stress, depression or anxiety. Stress, depression or anxiety also accounted for 22.1 million working days lost that year.

Mean while the Office for National Statistics reported that 148.8 million working days were lost because of sickness or injury in the UK in 2025, with an average of 4.4 days lost per worker. Ok these sicknesses are not all completely stress related but there is a growing awareness of how many chronic illnesses are impacted by stress.

So its fair to say these are not just numbers. These are real people running on empty. People pushing through headaches, poor sleep, anxiety, tight shoulders, low mood, overwhelm and that horrible wired-but-tired feeling where your body is exhausted but your brain is still doing laps.

Stress does not just live in the mind. It shows up in the body too. Long-term stress is associated with problems including sleep disruption, digestive issues, headaches, muscle tension, high blood pressure, inflammation, anxiety and low mood. It can also push us towards coping habits that give quick relief but do not necessarily support long-term wellbeing.

That is exactly why many folks reach the weekend and that Friday night glass of wine sneaks in.

For many people, alcohol becomes the punctuation mark at the end of a stressful week. The little ritual that says, “I can finally stop.” I used to be that person.

However, alcohol and stress have a truly complicated relationship. Alcohol Change UK notes that while some people drink to manage stress, anxiety or low mood, alcohol can actually make symptoms worse. The NHS also warns that drinking at higher-risk levels (they mean more that 2 drinks in one sitting and/or several times per week) can negatively affect mental health.

So this is not about being smug, sober or joyless. It is about choice. What if the end of week ritual was not about numbing out, but coming back?

What if Friday night became the place where you put the week down properly?

Defrazzle brings together trance meditation, creative expression and thoughtful reflection. You do not need to be good at meditation. You do not need to be artistic. You do not need to talk about your feelings in front of a room full of strangers.

You simply arrive.

Through gentle guided relaxation, sensory-based trance, creativity and reflective prompts, we create space for gratitude, reflection, forgiveness, growth and peace.

Not in a big dramatic “change your life overnight” way.

More like small pauses which in turn can lead to big shifts.

Because the thing is when we consistently do something that brings us back to ourselves, it changes us.

Not always loudly or even immediately. But slowly and steadily, in the way we respond to life.

We start to pause before reacting.
We begin to notice what we need in the moment rather than ploughing on. Or we soften the grip on the strains of life and remember that we're allowed to exist in our own lives too.

That, for me, is the real power of Defrazzle.

It is not about escaping life. It's about learning how to live inside it with a little more space, a little more intention and a little more kindness towards yourself.

I was invited to celebrate an alternative Easter during my recent camp. The person inviting me had experienced a bad Easter and wanted to do something different . The alter turned into an Alter of Abundance and was surrounded by coins, crystals and Lots of chocolate. It was indeed quite marvellous. Cards we pulled, food and stories shared.
It really was magical.
Today my abundance wish came true…💙

Where be all my procrastinators?

I’m looking for 3 procrastinators to trial a new hypnosis program I’ve been working on.

Tell me what life would be like if you didn’t procrastinate frequently?

Being the odd one out isn’t a bad thing… yet so many of us believe it to be true.

Taking a moment to pause and appreciate differences can bring so many rewards in life.
