πŸ‚ Winter is coming... have you had your flu vaccination?

The NHS flu vaccination programme has now started booking for eligible groups, helping to protect those most at risk from serious illness this winter. Eligible children and pregnant women can receive their flu vaccine from October.

Flu is not just a bad cold. It can lead to serious complications and hospital admission, particularly for: βœ… Adults aged 65 and over
βœ… Pregnant women
βœ… People with certain long-term health conditions
βœ… Carers
βœ… Children eligible under the NHS programme

If you are eligible, please give us a call or book via the NHS app.

πŸ’™ Protect yourself, protect your loved ones, and help reduce winter pressures on NHS services.

πŸ’Š Did you know your local pharmacy can help with many common conditions?

Through the NHS Pharmacy First service, patients can access advice and treatment for several common conditions without needing a GP appointment.

Your local pharmacist can help with:
βœ… Sinusitis (for patients aged 12 years and over)
βœ… Sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
βœ… Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
βœ… Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
βœ… Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
βœ… Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
βœ… Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women (aged 16 to 64 years)

Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals and can provide treatment, including prescription-only medicines where appropriate.

By choosing the right service for your needs, you can often get help more quickly while helping to keep GP appointments available for those who need them most.

Some of our patients tell us that they find it difficult to get to the surgery for the cervical smear test during our usual opening times due to work, childcare and other committments.

To help our patients access the services we need, additional appointments are available during evenings and weekends from our three PCN hub locations (Forum HC, Kenyon MC and Henley Green MC).

You can book an appointment in advance by speaking to our care coordination team. Our friendly team of nurses are here to support you with any queries or concerns you have about the test.

If you've got toys at home that are no longer used, why not donate them to UHCW for children to play with during hospital stays?

We're still in need of toy donations!🧸

We're particularly looking for musical toys suitable for babies and toddlers, but any donations are greatly appreciated.

Please drop donations off at our Charity Hub in Main Reception and ensure toys are in good condition, plastic, and easy to clean.

Every donation helps bring comfort, play, and a little extra joy to a child's hospital stay.
