You may have noticed from our new profile picture that we're doing a bit of rebranding for our marketing. Our funeral assistant Lee has been hard at work designing some things, including our new business cards that you can see here. Best of all, there's more things to come, so keep an eye out! ☺️

Like many others, we have been watching the unfolding revelations about the actions of a funeral company in Hull, that have totally betrayed the trust that the bereaved place in funeral directors. My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by the actions of this man. Having watched the impact statements and sentencing last week I really cannot comprehend the enormity of the callousness, and the harm that has been done.
Keith, Jenny and Lee want to reassure all those who have trusted us that we take that trust very seriously, and we never, ever take it for granted. We treat those in our care with dignity and respect at all times and aim to keep families fully informed at every step of the journey from first meeting to the funeral and beyond.
As part of this commitment, we are adopting the Funeral Director Pledge that was complied by a working party at the The Good Funeral Guide CIC, of which Jenny was proud to be a part. We are committed to upholding this pledge and to honouring the sacred trust that you place in us.

Jenny has been involved with the Good Funeral The Good Funeral Guide CIC Working Party, consisting of a small group of independent, progressive funeral directors.

We were working in the wake of publicity surrounding a small number of funeral directors who were exposed as treating the dead and the bereaved in an appalling way, and we were seeking to suggest regulatory guidelines to the government that were designed entirely for the benefit of the public, rather than the funeral sector.

The Good Funeral Guide CIC has, today, put those documents into the public domain. You can read all about them and the process we went through- and are still pursuing in this article.

Jenny is immensely proud of the part she was able to play in this process, and for the opportunity to work with an amazing group of funeral directors to write something of real value to protect the bereaved and to ensure that the funeral sector is fit for purpose

Last month, we had the privilege to attend the National Funeral Exhibition (NFE). We met many wonderful people - and revisited others. It was our funeral assistant, Lee's, first time, and the first time in many years for owners Keith and Jenny.

We saw so much about what is currently in the wider funeral world here in the UK - and beyond - including a coffin made from mushrooms (pictured)! As a small independent funeral directors, it was amazing seeing so many other independent and smaller companies that are expanding and improving the funeral world as we know it.

We are eager to use what we have seen and learned to bring the best service to you and your loved ones!
