Throughout September, we’re sharing advice on recognising early signs, simple ways to support loved ones at home, and how specialist residential care creates reassuring daily routines.

👨‍🍳 Chef James had some extra-special helpers in the kitchen at Croft Lodge! 🍽️

Feeling involved, useful, and at home is what day-to-day life is all about. Recently, a couple of our wonderful residents dropped into the kitchen to lend Chef James a helping hand with the washing up—and, of course, enjoy a well-earned cuppa and a snack afterwards! ☕🍌

At Centrum, we encourage our residents to continue doing the familiar, everyday activities they’ve always enjoyed. Whether it’s helping out in the kitchen, pottering in the garden, or setting the tables, keeping active and involved brings a fantastic sense of purpose, routine, and joy.

🥽 Travelling the world without leaving home at Beacon House! ✈️🌍

Our recent Virtual Reality (VR) session at Beacon House was full of excitement, adventure, and plenty of smiles!

Residents and visitors were whisked away on incredible virtual journeys, exploring iconic destinations across the USA, New Zealand, France, and Spain, all from the comfort of the lounge.

It’s amazing to see how modern technology can open up a whole world of possibilities. These immersive experiences spark fond memories, encourage wonderful conversations, and bring fresh adventures into daily life. Proof that the world truly is our oyster! 💙

🍦 Sunny treats at Windward House! ☀️

There’s nothing quite like the sound of an ice cream van pulling up to bring out instant smiles!

Our residents and team at Windward House enjoyed a lovely surprise visit from Pete’s Ice Cream. Everyone got to pick their favourite treat, from classic 99 flakes to ice cream tubs, and enjoy a delicious sweet treat in the sunshine.

It’s the simple, nostalgic moments like these that make life at Windward so special. A huge thank you to Pete's Ice Cream South Hams for stopping by and making everyone's day! 🍦 classic 99s all round!

There’s nothing quite like live music to brighten up the day! Our residents at Willow had a wonderful afternoon enjoying some fantastic live entertainment.

As the music started playing, the feet started tapping, and it wasn't long before our team joined in for a quick turn around the dance floor! Moments like these are what care is all about: creating joy, sharing laughs, and making every day feel special.

The staff gathered at Croft Lodge alongside colleagues from Estuary View for a hands-on fire safety training session.

Cross-home collaboration like this is an essential part of how we operate across the Centrum family. Refreshing our emergency procedures and fire safety knowledge ensures that our staff feel confident, prepared, and ready to respond quickly and effectively in any situation.

Behind the scenes, regular practical training builds strong teamwork and keeps the safety of our residents, visitors, and staff as our absolute top priority.
