A little personal update from me 🤍

Some of you will know that I’ve been having some health investigations recently. Unfortunately, these have resulted in a diagnosis of breast cancer.

I’m feeling very positive, I’m in excellent hands, and I’ll be taking some time away from my clinic while I focus on my treatment and recovery.

I did, however, want to reassure everyone that HIC is still very much OPEN and ACTIVE.

One of the things I’m most proud of about HIC is the community we’ve created. It has never just been about me, it’s about practitioners supporting practitioners, sharing experiences, asking questions, celebrating the wins and having somewhere to turn when things feel a bit harder.

And that isn’t going anywhere.

Amie and I will continue to keep things running behind the scenes, the community will remain open and active, and we have a brilliant group of people here who I know will continue to support each other as you always do.

I may need to take a little more of a back seat at times while I focus on my treatment, but HIC is very much still here, and I fully intend to be too, whenever I can.

If anything, the last few weeks have reminded me just how important having a great community around you really is.

Thank you for being such a brilliant one. 🤍

If you run an aesthetics clinic and want to rank higher on Google, backlinks are one part of your SEO strategy you shouldn’t overlook. 🔗

So, what is a backlink?

A backlink is created when another website links to your clinic’s website. These links can help search engines understand that your business is established, relevant and connected to your industry and location.

One of the simplest ways for injectors and aesthetics clinics to start building their online presence is through reputable business, healthcare, aesthetics and local directories.

Start by checking your listings on Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect and Yell. Then look for relevant aesthetics directories, healthcare directories and local business directories in your area.

📍 Local SEO matters too.

If you’re trying to rank for searches such as:

• Aesthetics clinic near me
• Lip filler in [your location]
• Anti-wrinkle treatments in [your location]
• Medical aesthetics clinic in [your location]

Google needs clear signals about what your clinic does and where it’s located.

Make sure your clinic’s name, address, phone number and website details are consistent wherever your business appears online.

And remember: this isn’t about adding your clinic to hundreds of random websites.

Quality and relevance matter.

Look for established directories that are relevant to your profession, treatments or geographical area, particularly websites that already appear prominently when you search for aesthetics services locally.

💡 Your SEO task this week:

Google “aesthetics directory UK”, “aesthetics directory + [your location]” and “business directory + [your location]”.

Find five reputable places where your clinic could be listed and start strengthening your digital footprint.
