"Can we ever truly map the wild - the unique ways we each connect and know our version of her?

Can we ever fully immerse in the true depths of wildness that we long for?

What is this longing that arises from our Wild Spirit - that essence of our timeless Soul that transcends the limits of the human constructed world?'

I have attempted a post this weekend on Substack which explores our innate Wild Spiritual Longing (or sense of it) in relation to landscape, to places we are called to connect with and to our deeper lives.

What does your Wild Spirit's Longing feel or look like today? How can you meet with her on the land? Or within your inner landscape.

A pivotal moment of connection on a road into Dartmoor almost 40 years ago led to a big shift in awareness for my teenage self. We drove this same road just over a week ago and I met myself back in that moment, this led to many insights and feelings, shifts and meanders through my longing. How interesting time can be, sometimes such memories can feel so far away in the mists of the past and yet in the moment along that road I felt I was right there with the younger version of me.

I sense this is because it was such a powerful moment in the journey of my spirit in this lifetime, it was a marker point on my wild spirit's map. So time felt elastic and non linear, I was able to meet that part of my psyche. It was both emotional and incredibly humbling.

As I journey through the often rocky valleys of Cronedom, I notice the bright sparks of wildness become more and more visible, more and more real. My eyes are tuned in more to the roar of the wild and less to the roar of the human world.

Though ofcourse all is connected is it not?.....

Deer ones, I do hope you have a day with plenty of small wild connections that can help to fill your heart and spirit.

It is almost New Moon - we are also getting closer to the time of Solar Eclipse which takes place early evening UK time.

There is a tangible prickle and a buzz in the Wyrd.

This New Moon is feeling like a threshold for the collective, a moon of gathering, a moon of seeds and weaving in scattered energies. This months' New Moon post is up on Substack now and in it I do my best to convey the connections and inter relationships between the waning year, seeds, thresholds and energetic weaving.

The Oracle Ally I have picked is linked to both the Web of Wyrd and Weaving....

When life feels scattered, dry and 'spent', it can be good to call on one's inner weaver, the part of you who knows about cutting back, mending, letting go, healing and making sense of loose ends. A period of changes where it is important to remind yourself of what you can do, however small in terms of shifting into the changes you feel are needed. Remember that a big leap is not always necessary along the path but stepping stones can be very useful and act as markers along the way.

A seasoned weaver knows that some mistakes with the warp or weft threads can be left in - a reminder of the importance of learning and the gifts of imperfection. Important these days in a world that is increasingly focused on perfecting the look and production of digitalised art. Our fragility is a blessing I feel and honouring it in ourselves and in our wider lives, our creativity and our work is good to do.

Resilience requires us to show up in ways that feel right for our needs and circumstances and this New Moon calls us to show up for our spiritual wellbeing and for the health of the wider, wilder ecosystem. We all have an effect on the web of energetic threads that we are each of a part of.

A suggestion is to find space to attune to the key threads you need to attend to or pay attention to, even if just as an observer 'noticing'. How does this feel? What threads are talking right now?

I feel myth as alive, with the capacity to enliven our spirits and create changes in both our inner landscapes but also in our lives.

“Bran deems it a marvellous beauty
In his coracle across the clear sea:
While to me in my chariot from afar
It is a flowery plain on which he rides about.

What is a clear sea
For the prowed skiff in which Bran is,
That is a happy plain with profusion of flowers
To me from the chariot of two wheels”. (Translation of the Voyage of Bran).

This part of an ancient Irish myth is very compelling for me and it popped into my thoughts the other morning - leaving me feeling inspired and deeply moved. Isn't it incredible how stories, especially sacred stories like ancient myths, can transport us and actually lead to us feeling so 'different'?

Myths are alive, I am fairly certain of this.

In this week's Substack I explore aspects of the Voyage of Bran (I am particularly fond of the sea God Manannán mac Lir who features in this tale and ofcourse the Otherworld space of Emain Ablach (Isle of Apples and Women). I also share on the notion of an Imaginal World (the liminal realm named by French Philosopher Henry Corbin, which abides between the physical and purely spiritual realms) where myth and many forms of art are said to arise from. A synchronistic space of potent sacred magic. This is something I often refer to from a wild edged, Nature spirituality context.

I have added an audio exercise on the post to connect in with your own myth, with you as the key mythic hero/ine, your mythic landscape, allies and hindrances. After all with a shift of perspective any mundane task can become a mythic task!

At this time of severe drought I felt it would be refreshing and hopefully uplifting to journey in this way. So if this speaks to you please wander over to the Antlered Path substack and you are very welcome there.

Blessings across the trods deer ones.

Come on a wander along the drought paths - to connect with tree and plant allies, with a little impromptu invocation. Ending at the friendly, local standing stones. Blessed be deer ones. 🦌🌟🦌🌳

Good morning from our Antlered Cottage. The light is shifting and starting to feel that early Autumn glow. A subtle reminder to pause and enjoy the flowers….

As we approach the ancient festival of Lughnasadh, First Fruits, First Harvest I am noticing how different I feel about it all this year. The abundance of wild fires around the world have scorched my senses and my spirit is feeling scattered. I cannot focus on harvest - spiritual and physical without also focusing on the impact of climate change through heat waves and fires.

Fire is key to Lughnasadh celebrations. But it is not a time for lighting fires here! Too many risks.

I am grieving the loss of habitats and species around the world, piles of ash, smouldering vegetation, endless amounts of water being used to support the management of fires. So in my Substack post this week I have reflected on the impact of wild fires and shared a healing invocation spell for those who feel moved to use in bringing some focus to recovery and harmony. I also share three shining connections I had recently in mid Devon in the most sacred, secluded woodland where we stayed for a few nights. Here I found deep spiritual nourishment and was able to simply experience wild harvest as it was without taking anything physical away from the space.

What can you spiritually harvest - connect with - offer healing to?

I wish you healing and peace - take time to notice the wildness within and around you. Give yourself permission to savour the brilliant diversity in a small space and to also expand your senses to the wider landscape. It is all such a mosaic of miracles deer ones.
