Please be advised that there are ongoing roadworks near Drayton Surgery on School Road between the 17th and 21st August 2026, which may affect your travel time to our surgery. We recommend allowing extra time for your journey to ensure you arrive on time for your appointment.

✔️ Blood tests, blood pressure & pulse checks
✔️ Cervical screening
✔️ Diabetic annual reviews
✔️ Routine GP appointments
✔️ NHS Health Checks
✔️ Nurse Practitioner appointments (for the following day)
✔️ Pneumonia vaccinations
✔️ Respiratory (asthma) annual reviews
✔️ Shingles vaccinations

📝 What information you’ll need to book:
Your personal details (name, date of birth, contact information)
A brief reason for your appointment

💊 Ordering repeat medications:
Please note, when ordering medications online, you will need a verification code, which will be sent to your default contact method (this is most likely your email address).

👉 Please make sure your contact details are up to date and inform us if anything changes, so you can continue to receive your codes without any issues.

✅ Good to know:
Medical requests and appointment bookings do not require a verification code

While only a small number of babies arrive exactly on their due date, knowing your estimated due date can help you plan for appointments, prepare for your baby's arrival and understand your pregnancy timeline better 👍

Your due date may be adjusted later based on your dating scan, which usually takes place between 10 and 14 weeks of pregnancy 🩺

Remember, every pregnancy is different and babies can arrive before or after their estimated due date 💫

New Support Available at Drayton Surgery on Friday!

We’re excited to be part of a new project, helping carers with support and also helping any patients build confidence with everyday technology 💻📱

This service is here to support you if you:

✅ Struggle with online shopping
✅ Need help using the NHS App
✅ Find online forms or applications difficult
✅ Want to improve your general tech skills
✅ Or care for someone and need extra support

Drop-in Sessions Now Available
A member from Norfolk County Council will be running weekly drop-in sessions over the next few weeks where you can get help with your phone, apps, and more.

📅 Next session: Friday 14th August
🕙 Time: 10am – 1pm
📍 Location: Drayton Surgery

No appointment needed—just come along and let Reception know that you’re here for the session!

If there’s enough demand, we’ll also be able to offer follow-up sessions for more in-depth support.

As temperatures rise, it's important to know the signs of hyperthermia and heat-related illness ☀️💙

Hyperthermia happens when your body becomes too hot and struggles to cool itself down. If left untreated, it can become serious and may require medical attention ⚠️

Signs to watch for include:
• Dizziness or feeling light-headed 😵
• Muscle cramps 💪
• Swollen feet or ankles 👣
• Feeling sick, weak or unusually tired 🤒
• A rapid pulse or fast heartbeat ❤️

You can help reduce your risk by:
• Drinking plenty of water throughout the day 💧
• Staying in the shade where possible 🌳
• Avoiding strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day ☀️
• Wearing loose, light-coloured clothing 👕
• Checking on older relatives, neighbours and vulnerable people 👥

Babies, young children, older adults and people with long-term health conditions can be particularly vulnerable during hot weather 🌡️

If symptoms become severe, worsen, or do not improve, seek medical advice promptly 🩺💙

📢 Important Dispensary Notice – St Faiths

Please be advised that our St Faiths Dispensary will be temporarily closed during the following times:

🕐 Wednesdays: 1:00pm – 3:00pm
🕐 Fridays: 1:00pm – 2:00pm

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

If you require medication, please try to collect your prescription outside of these times where possible.

We will continue to review these temporary arrangements and will update patients as soon as there are any changes to the dispensary opening hours.

📱 NHS App Update for Our Patients

Thank you for your patience while we have been working on getting the NHS App up and running — it took a little longer than expected, but we’re pleased to confirm that nearly everything is now up and running!

The NHS App is functional and available for our patients to use either on the app or on a web browser

Through the NHS App, you can:
✔️ Order repeat prescriptions
✔️ View your medical records
✔️ Check test results
✔️ Update your personal details
✔️ Access NHS services and advice

Please note:

❗Booking appointments is still not available through the app at this stage.
❗Proxy access is currently unavailable – the NHS App team and Medicus are working on this, but there is no confirmed fix date yet.
❗Patient Access is no longer compatible due to changing systems – please use the NHS App instead – we are starting to host drop in sessions on Fridays 10am-1pm at Drayton if you need support setting this up – contact us or check our social media for more information.
