Are you a West Midlands-based Speech & Language Therapist working in, or moving into, mainstream primary school settings?

Join us on Monday 12th October in Birmingham for this highly interactive full-day workshop designed to build confidence, knowledge and practical skills for supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) in mainstream schools.

During the day, participants will:
✅ Develop a deeper understanding of the cycle of communication
✅ Explore methods and tools for screening and identifying SLCN
✅ Learn about a range of effective intervention approaches
✅ Discover practical resources to support children at all levels of the intervention pyramid
✅ Understand how to measure impact and why it matters
✅ Increase confidence in delivering and advising on interventions

🏫 We recently had the pleasure of visiting the brand-new home of Pens Meadow School in Dudley, and and what an amazing place it is!

Having worked with the school for over six years, it was fantastic to see everyone now together under one roof in their beautiful new building.

From the hydrotherapy pool and sensory spaces to the colourful gardens and forest school area, every detail has been carefully designed to support pupils' wellbeing, learning and independence.

But what impressed us most was the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the staff and leadership team. The school is full of positivity, purpose and pride.

Thank you to Deputy Headteacher Michal Pawlowicz for showing us around and sharing the school's journey with us.

Keeping safeguarding knowledge current is about more than meeting requirements, it's about ensuring we can recognise concerns, respond appropriately and support children effectively.

At our latest Soundswell Speech day, the team completed specialist safeguarding refresher training tailored to speech and language therapists working in schools and educational settings.

The training was delivered by County Safeguarding and combined current guidance, practical case studies and valuable discussion around the role of visiting professionals in safeguarding children and young people.

Every 6 months, we bring our incredible team of Therapists together for an Away Day held in Harborne, Birmingham. The day is a chance to connect, learn, and share best practice from across the settings they work in. 🚀

Today’s session was packed with valuable training, important regulatory updates, and brilliant collaborative discussions. Following an engaging safeguarding refresher, the team wrapped up the day with a hands-on audit workshop, sharing ideas and strengthening the high standards we deliver every day.
