A Message to the Thornbury Community
Brightest Stars Shine For Half As Long
On Friday 5th June 2026, at approximately 1.45pm, Neil "Nelly" Stone will be making his final journey through Thornbury High Street on his way to his Celebration of Life.
Neil was a familiar and much-loved face around Thornbury, often seen walking up and down the High Street with his partner, Dan, and Bonnie their dog. It therefore feels only right that he should take this route one last time, passing many of the places, businesses and local haunts that formed such a big part of his life.
As the hearse and cortege make their way through the High Street, traffic may be slowed briefly and we would like to thank local businesses, residents and visitors for their patience and understanding.
For those who knew Neil, or simply wish to show their respect, you are warmly invited to pause for a moment as he passes. Whether that is a bow of the head, a round of applause, a wave, or simply standing quietly in reflection, any gesture will be a fitting tribute to a man who was such a familiar presence in our community.
Thank you, Thornbury, for helping us give Neil the send-off he deserves.
