VOLUNTEERING
Tadpoles Swimming Club for the Disabled and for Rehabilitation has reached its 44th birthday. 🎈We meet one hour a week at the Kings Centre Pool on a Thursday evening. We have a loyal cohort of volunteers BUT at this time of year it becomes apparent that we need to recruit more. With volunteers away on family holidays and our younger helpers leaving school for higher education in September, Thursday nights can be rather challenging to make sure all our members get the help they need.
Do you have ONE HOUR of your time to give? This may not be every week, as we know how busy life is for so many people, so our volunteering is a flexible commitment to suit you. You do not have to be a strong swimmer. In fact several of our members spend their hour in the shallow water, walking and exercising to improve muscle strength or because they enjoy the sociable atmosphere of talking to a friendly face. We also need people who could stay on poolside, counting lengths or helping members to and from the changing area to the pool. Volunteering is also recognised as a contribution to the community for young people completing all stages of the DoE award.
We are committed to keeping this fantastic club going. If you are interested, have a look at our website; www.tadpoles.info or you can come along on a Thursday 8pm-0pm to see what we do. Just ring Jenny 07849956925 or Ros 07921556540
