CEDA provides opportunities for disabled people of all ages. Come and visit to see the fab things on offer.

CEDA is a Devon based organisation working to provide quality services specialising in working with disabled people. From 1-1 enabling, learning courses delivered from our activity hub or short breaks we try and provide a personalised service for all users. CEDA works with adults and children with many disabilities including physical, learning and sensory. Based in Exeter our activity hub boosts impressive facilities including two ICT suites, a sensory room, soft play room, dedicated children’s room, gym, arts and craft studio, kitchen, meeting spaces, sensory garden and offices. We work in the community with our users providing a 1-1 enabling service and short breaks service for those who are able to access direct payments. CEDA is also offering disabled people across the South West advice and guidance on the changes being made and implemented both nationally and Devon wide.

Come and Join the Celebration! 🎉

CEDA is delighted to be part of the Guildhall Shopping Centre's 50th Anniversary celebrations, and we'd love you to join us!

From Tuesday 3rd to Saturday 7th November, you'll find CEDA in side the Guildhall, with some of our supported adults showcasing and selling the wonderful crafts they've created in our Activity Hub.

We'll also be joined by Craig Bowden and the Access All Aerials team, who will be broadcasting live throughout the week, so be sure to stop by and grab a selfie!

We'll be selling tickets for CEDA's BIG Raffle, with fantastic prizes including:

🍽️ Restaurant vouchers
⚽ An Exeter City bundle

Friday 6th November sees the return of CEDA's much-loved Carnival of Characters, giving visitors the chance to meet some of our giant mascots. The Guildhall will also be hosting its "Fifty and Fabulous" celebrations, complete with a huge birthday cake and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Then on Saturday 7th November, it's Superhero Saturday, packed with fun for children, plus a special appearance from Gus Honeybun and Judy Spiers in support of Children's Hospice South West.

Whether you're coming to shop, celebrate, support local causes, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, we'd love to see as many people as possible there as we help mark this fantastic milestone for one of Exeter's most iconic shopping destinations.

We were delighted to welcome PC Jones to CEDA last week for a community placement as part of his training with Exeter and Middlemoor Police.

During his time with us, PC Jones reflected on how eye-opening it had been to see the many different ways we communicate with the people we support. He also gained invaluable knowledge, tools and techniques that he hopes to draw on throughout his policing career as he begins working in the community

When asked what the best thing about working at CEDA had been, PC Jones said
"It's just so much fun to work here."

Thank you, PC Jones, for your enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to learn. It was a pleasure to have you as part of the team, and we wish you all the best for the next stage of your training!

Back in the saddle! 🐴

After a couple of years away, Sophie and Olivia are back enjoying one of their much-loved activities: horse riding!

Both ladies rode for many years but had to stop when it was no longer possible to support them safely. After a long search for a suitable centre, we’re delighted they’re now attending Hitts Barton Equestrian Centre, supported by East Devon Riding for the Disabled.

The EDRDA team have been wonderful, providing personalised support and helping the girls build relationships with both the staff and horses. Sophie showed fantastic confidence at her first session, getting straight back on a horse! She even signed ‘friends’ when reunited with the horses. Olivia has also been full of excitement and is gradually rebuilding her confidence, enjoying grooming and spending time with the horses while working towards getting back in the saddle.

It’s wonderful to see the ladies reconnecting with something they love, at their own pace and with the right support in place. A huge thank you to Hitts Barton Equestrian Centre and EDRDA for helping make this possible. It’s a brilliant example of how personalised support and inclusion can open up opportunities and bring so much joy.
