PCOS is getting a new name 👀 Following a major international consensus published in The Lancet in 2026, PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome) is now being renamed PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
Why the change? Because many patients diagnosed with PCOS don’t actually have ovarian cysts. The new name better reflects the hormonal, metabolic & fertility-related aspects of the condition — including insulin resistance, inflammation & ovulation problems.
🌍 PMOS/PCOS affects up to 1 in 8 women worldwide.
Join us LIVE with Dr Elias Tsakos, FRCOG, Medical Director of Embryoclinic 🇬🇷, as we discuss how this updated understanding may impact ovulation, egg quality, IVF & fertility treatment.
