The Partners at the Grove Medical Centre are currently undertaking a practice wide project to review the prescribing and ongoing management of patients who are taking opioid medicines and/or other medicines that may carry a risk of dependence.
This is an important part of our commitment to ensuring that medicines are prescribed safely, appropriately and in line with current clinical guidance.
Our clinical team is working hard to review individual patients and ensure that their medication remains clinically appropriate, effective and safe. Where appropriate, we may contact patients to discuss their medication, treatment options or any changes that may be recommended.
We appreciate that medication reviews can sometimes lead to questions or concerns. Any decisions about treatment will be made on an individual clinical basis, taking into account each patient's circumstances, medical history and treatment needs.
We would like to reassure patients that this project is not about stopping medication unnecessarily. It is about ensuring that every patient receiving these medicines is receiving the safest and most appropriate treatment for their individual needs.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while our clinical team undertakes this important work.

Our most recent feedback from July 2026 in the friends and family test is as follows;
We had 12 responses, 10 of those were marked as very good and 2 was marked as very poor.
Some of the comments were;
I am very grateful, everyone working in the NHS deserves a gold star.
Sally is the best. I am incredibly scared of blood tests but Sally makes it go really smoothly.
Filiz was lovely, thorough and reassuring.
Very efficient, kind, understanding, an asset to the surgery.
Poor service, if a surgery was run by AI it would give the service the grove does. You seem like your too big to give proper care.

During our most recent Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting, it was brought to our attention that some patients are unaware that they can request a face to face appointment.

Our clinicians are always happy to see patients in person where appropriate. If you would like a face to face appointment, please let our reception team know when you contact the surgery. You will still receive a triage telephone call first then an appointment will be arranged for the same day.
