Your podiatrist is obsessed with perfectly trimmed nails, silky-smooth callus-free heels, and toes that are fresh and clean in every little detail (no toe jam allowed🚫).

They just have to be perfect..☺️💚

SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT..👶🏾💚 and embracing my new Tweedledum and Tweedledee bod!

Most of my patients know, however I just wanted to share with some of the patients that I may not have seen recently that I’m 27 weeks (and a few days) pregnant.

So, I’ll keep you updated on when I’ll be going on maternity leave (though I’ve been told by a few of my patients that I’m not allowed 😂) and when I’ll be returning.

Don’t worry, we’ve still got plenty of toe time left here at Foot & Leg Clinic..👣💚

Left Foot..👣

It’s difficult caring for elderly parents or grandparents as there are so many things on the todo list:
Daily house choirs
Shopping
Cooking
Appointments
Help them use technology..😩😂
…and so much more but it slips our minds to check their feet.

Basic foot health is so important to keep our elderly parents and grandparents mobile, and even more important to reduce the risk of developing lower limb related diseases.

More and more family members, whether they live nearby or miles away, are booking their loved ones in for a Foot & Leg Clinic MOT..🛠️

For some, it’s simply a routine check-up, while for others it’s exactly what’s needed. If required, we can also send a letter to their GP outlining their foot health, along with any concerns identified during the appointment or raised by the patient.

It’s a simple way to help loved ones stay on top of their health and catch any issues early..💚

It always makes me smile when I walk into a patient’s home and discover they still have their furry family members by their side..🐾💚

To me, it says three things:

1. Unconditional love and companionship.
The way my patient and his little dog looked at each other was pure love. There’s nothing quite like the bond between a person and their pet.

2. A reason to keep moving.
Even if they’re not as mobile as they once were, many of my patients are still walking, staying active, and getting outside because their four-legged companion depends on them.

3. A sense of purpose and routine.
Dogs don’t let you forget dinner time! They’ll let you know at 5:01 pm if dinner is late. As a result, many of my patients also stick to a regular eating schedule, often sharing mealtimes with their canine companion. Dogs bring structure, consistency, and a sense of purpose to each day, helping to establish healthy routines that benefit both pets and their owners.

At Foot & Leg Clinic, and as a former GB athlete, I’ve always believed that movement is one of the greatest investments we can make in our health. Without our health, what do we really have?

Having a dog has always been one of the best ways for me to stay active, and I see that same positive impact in so many of my pet-owning patients. Sometimes, the best personal trainer has four paws and a wagging tail..🐶💚

Remember this deep, painful fissure on our wonderful patient’s medial calcaneus?

Well… IT’S HEALED! 🥳

This painful ulcer affected her for several weeks, impacting her daily activities, exercise routine, and overall wellbeing.

By following our treatment plan and advice, the wound has now fully healed. Although the skin remains slightly fragile and anhidrotic (what I like to call dry dry desert skin), the pain is now a distant memory, and she’s back on the right track.

Now it’s time for the next chapter of her journey… dermatology! 👣✨

Forgot to take a before photo, but we managed to restore the nail after her husband stood on it, causing just over half of the nail to detach.

Due to this, the nail plate began to build up with onychophosis (which is just keratin, debris, sock, dust, STUFF buildup).

But now, nobody would ever know that it wasn’t hers..🤫👣

Enjoy your holiday pretty, hardworking lady..✈️😁
