Residents at our Ledmore Supported Accommodation got up close and personal with a range of critters this month, thanks to a visit from Sense of Nature

They shared an amazing afternoon with leopard geckos, fancy mice, Muffin the guinea pig, Tarzan the bearded dragon and Teddy the tarantula. (That's brave Megan saying hello to Teddy!)

Mary Faulds, Service Manager, said: "This is the second time Sense of Nature has visited us, and it's definitely one of the most popular activities we have.

"Everyone had loads of questions about the animals and learned so much. I was amazed at how many of our staff and the people we support held the tarantula!"

We wanted to share a few POTM performances to thank some of the people backing Scotland's mental health during the World Cup.

🎟️ John MacLean selflessly donated his £900 matchday ticket to support a young fan, Ciaran, who was scammed out of getting a seat. A friend of the family launched a GoFundMe to return the price of the ticket to John, with all extra funds raised going to SAMH.

🎤 Go Radio are set to donate £10,000 to SAMH for every goal scored by Scotland, with John McGinn opening up Scotland's account against Haiti. Next up, Brazil (no pressure lads 😬)

🏠 Tartan Army fans staying at Rhode Island have repaid the locals' hospitality - raising £17,670 for Hasbro Children's hospital, SAMH, and to fund a new bagpipe tuition scheme.

"There are so many guys we've lost to mental health."

Scott, a lifelong Aberdeen FC supporter, was supported by SAMH's Changing Room project at Aberdeen FC Community Trust and has helped launch The Nook in Aberdeen.

"It's hard to open up, but once you do, you realise how many people are going through the same thing."

"My message to other men is simple really. Come to The Nook and speak to someone. Even just coming in on your lunch break, it could make a massive difference. Just come in, speak, and get the ball rolling."

The Nook in Aberdeen is now open! 🧡

The Nook is your place for free mental health support. There's no stigma, no waitlist, and no need for an appointment or referral.

We're open seven days a week, 10am-4pm, and anyone aged 10+ can drop-in to chat about mental health and wellbeing. Fee, our Service Manager, is here to share more.
