💚🩷 WHAT A WEEK AT GAMESLEY COMMUNITY CENTRE! 🩷💚
Looking back at everything that has happened at the Centre this week, it’s amazing to see just how much is now happening under one roof.
From health and wellbeing support to children’s activities, sport, employment advice, digital skills, food support and simply having somewhere to meet other people – Gamesley Community Centre is becoming a real hub for our community.
This week we’ve welcomed:
🌿 Rethink Wellbeing Hub with April – offering friendly wellbeing and mental health support.
👶 Children’s 2-year checks with our Health Visitors – bringing important health services right into the heart of Gamesley.
💜 Phoenix Addiction Support – providing confidential advice and support for people who need it.
🧶 Knit & Natter – friendship, conversation, crafts and a good brew!
🎲 Connect Board Game Session – providing a welcoming and inclusive space for neurodivergent families to spend time together.
⚽ Gamesley FC First Team – representing our community on the pitch and continuing to grow football in Gamesley.
🥕 Children’s Cookery with Open Kitchen – a brilliant hands-on session helping our young people learn how to prepare and cook healthy food.
🥖🍎 FREE Fresh Food Bags with Kerry Halliwell – helping local households make their food budgets stretch further with fresh produce.
🌟 Life Skills with The Bureau – supporting people to build confidence, knowledge and practical skills.
🥊 Gamesley Boxing Club – fantastic boxing sessions for both children and adults, getting people active, building confidence and bringing people together.
🎮 Adaptive Gaming – gaming sessions giving our young people another fun and inclusive way to socialise and connect.
🏀⚽ Multi-Sports with Scott from HPSSP and James Thornhill – keeping our children and young people moving, trying different sports and having fun.
💻 Web 2 Work with PCrefurb – helping people develop the digital skills they need for work and everyday life.
💼 Towards Work with Nick from Zinc – practical employment support for people looking towards their next steps.
🖥️ IT Support with Suzanne from PCrefurb – helping local people get online, solve digital problems and feel more confident using technology.
And we’re doing it all again! 💚
NEXT WEEK many of these activities and services will be back at Gamesley Community Centre – and we’ll also be welcoming Lisa and the Sexual Health Team with their van on Tuesday, offering confidential sexual health information, advice and support.
What we love most is the variety. On any given day you might find children cooking, young people gaming, adults boxing, someone getting help towards work, a family accessing health support, people sharing a cuppa at Knit & Natter, or our footballers representing Gamesley.
🏡 This is what a community centre should be – a place for everyone.
A huge THANK YOU to every organisation, worker, volunteer, coach and partner who makes all of this possible, and most importantly to everyone from our community who comes through the doors and takes part.
