Please keep our Emergency Department for serious and life or limb-threatening accidents or illnesses. If you need urgent medical help that isn’t an emergency, remember there are alternative services available - including our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) at Leigh Infirmary and the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.

UTCs can treat minor illnesses or injuries, such as:
• Sore throats or flu-like symptoms
• Infections or rashes
• Viral illnesses
• Minor burns, cuts or wounds
• Fractures, sprains and x-rays of upper/lower limbs
• Eye problems
• Minor head injuries

Using the right service helps keep the Emergency Department free for those who need it most.

‘Locala sexual health have a new clinical van! It is a fully equipped and functioning clinic on wheels enabling us to bring the clinic out to the community. On our new clinical van we can provide all sexual health needs including help and advice, contraception, c-cards and STI testing. The service is there for all in the community and has accessibility adaptations if required.’

The van will be hosting a Drop-In on site at the Family Hub next week, please share across your teams and promote to any individuals that may benefit from accessing this service.
