Free Hearing test and Auditory Health Check

The weather is cooling down and we are getting ready for our holidays in September.

The Goostrey Sports Day

What a day down at the Goostrey Playing Fields participating in the Annual Sports Day Event.
We sent a team into battle "The Hear We Goes" against others from the community and enjoyed every moment.
From battling it out at pickle ball with the Dads and Lads team to volleyball against the Goostrey football team.
We laughed and celebrated together as a group and as a local community.
We had to run, hop and spin in some events and watching the participants wobble with dizzy heads reminded us how important our ears are.
Thanks to everyone who took time to welcome us, adjudicate the events and pull together a fantastic day from the trustees to the volunteers.

We are often asked what do we see when we look inside people's ears, well the reality is it can be many different things.

From healthy ear canals and eardrums to ear wax blockages and infections.

For many, being able to follow the conversation in busy places can be difficult.
Many resort to guessing what was said or even get their responses wrong but remain adamant it's the noise and not their hearing.

The truth is, it's a mixture of both. Some noise levels are so loud that the spoken word is drowned out. But in most circumstances it's the listening part of our hearing system that can not filter the words from the noise. This can be an early indicator of hearing loss.

At The Studio we take special care to challenge listening abilities and the solution is not always a hearing aid. Training the part of the hearing system that enables us to filter the speech from the noise can be the ideal answer, and for some a hearing system is also appropriate.
