I’m delighted to share that my MSc research has been published today in Frontiers in Veterinary Science.

I am incredibly grateful to Anna Boström and Vilma Reunanen at University of Helsinki for this opportunity, along with their significant contribution & guidance.

Research helps us move beyond assumptions and personal opinions, and enables us (as clinicians, clients or owners) to make informed decisions based on evidence, so we can make the best decisions for our pets. It feels a great achievement to have contributed to this growing body of knowledge supporting veterinary care & rehabilitation 🐾

Sweet Syke! 🌤️

Skye didn’t immediately take to underwater treadmill therapy, but after a few sessions, I think we are persuading her - and she’s finally enjoying some paste in the tank! 😋 We had to get photographic evidence.

Happy 17th Birthday Phoebe! 💕

In Nov 25, Phoebe was displaying potential pain behaviours in her ridden work. After radiographs confirming T14-T17 DSP impingement (kissing spine), she was medicated at these spinal spaces by

Phoebe was referred for physiotherapy, and our work began. Her loaners couldn’t have been more engaged, practising daily physio-prescribed stable exercises, TENs, massage/heat and most importantly ground work - long longing, in-hand & pole work.

Alongside this, her loaners have done a lot of trust building and desensitisation work as understandably, Phoebe presented with a lot of anticipatory pain behaviour (e.g. she wouldn’t let me anywhere near her back on our first visit!)

Phoebe is now back competing, even games! Which for anyone that knows Phoebe is quite something. Even though she’s back enjoying life, the work for her loaners does not stop now - at a reduced frequency, they will continue Phoebe’s physiotherapy programme on a regular basis to continue to build Phoebe’s strength and comfort long-term 💪
