👁️ Flashes and Floaters
‼️Have you suddenly noticed flashes of light, new floaters, or what looks like cobwebs or black spots drifting across your vision?
While floaters are often a normal part of ageing, a sudden increase in floaters, flashes of light, or a shadow or curtain appearing in your vision can be a sign of a retinal tear or retinal detachment. These conditions need urgent assessment and, if necessary, prompt treatment to help protect your sight.
⚠️ Seek an urgent eye examination if you experience:
• A sudden shower of new floaters
• Flashes of light, especially in your side vision
• A dark shadow or curtain moving across your vision
• A sudden change in your vision
The earlier these symptoms are assessed, the better the chance of preventing permanent vision loss.
If you’re unsure, don’t wait and see—get your eyes checked as soon as possible. It’s always better to be reassured than to risk your sight.
If you experience any of these symptoms, please call us and we will get you booked in.
