At Welcome Independent Living and Sunnyside Rest Home, we are proud to support Dementia Awareness Week. 💙

Every day, we work alongside people in our community and within our care home who are living well with dementia. We recognise the importance of compassion, understanding, dignity, and connection in helping people continue to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Dementia affects not only individuals, but also families, friends, and carers. This week is an opportunity to raise awareness, encourage conversation, and remind everyone that no one should face dementia alone.

We are committed to creating supportive environments where people feel valued, respected, and empowered every step of the way.

Together, we can build more dementia-friendly communities. 💙

🎉 Today we are celebrating 13 incredible years of Welcome Independent Living! 🎉

What started 13 years ago with a vision to provide compassionate, person-centred support has grown into a dedicated service that has helped so many people live more independently, confidently, and with dignity.

Over the years, we’ve built more than just a service — we’ve built a community. From supporting individuals to achieve personal goals, to creating lasting relationships with families, staff, and professionals, every step of this journey has been shaped by the amazing people around us.

We are so proud of how far Welcome Independent Living has come since opening our doors in 2013. Through challenges, growth, and change, our commitment has always remained the same: empowering people to live the lives they choose.

A huge THANK YOU goes to our incredible staff team — past and present — whose hard work, compassion, and dedication make a difference every single day. And of course, thank you to everyone we support, along with their families and friends, for trusting us to be part of your journey.
