FUNERAL SERVICE OPERATIVE – JOIN OUR TEAM
Ian Esslemont Funeral Directors are looking for a reliable, compassionate and hardworking Funeral Service Operative to join our team.
(THIS IS AN OPERATIONAL ROLE NOT AN ARRANGER ROLE.)
The role will include:
● Participating in an on-call rota
● Furnishing and preparing coffins
● Washing, cleaning and maintaining our funeral vehicles
● Cleaning and maintaining our premises
● Carrying out heavy lifting duties — physical strength and fitness are essential
● Providing support to the wider funeral service team
● Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, dignity and professionalism at all times
● Assisting with funerals
The successful applicant must:
● Hold a full clean UK driving licence
● Be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
● Be reliable, punctual and flexible
● Be comfortable working as part of a team
● Have a respectful, caring and professional manner
● Understand that confidentiality is an absolute must
● Be willing to participate in the on-call rota, including evenings and weekends
Hours and rates of pay will be discussed at interview.

Gladys’ family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all relatives, friends and neighbours for their many kind expressions of sympathy extended to them by way of cards, flowers and messages received following the sad passing of their beloved Mam, Nanna and Grandma. Thank you to Dr Jack for his compassion shown to their Mam. Thank you to Ian Esslemont Funeral Directors for their friendly and professional handling of the arrangements. Ian and his staff went above and beyond, and the family are extremely grateful. Thank you to Stiubhart Machollie for his thoughtful and caring words, to the staff at Moray Crematorium, Lotus Petal for the beautiful flowers and Huntly Golf Club for the welcoming teas. Finally, to all who their last respects and generously donated £661.60 to Huntly Youth Football Club. Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Marlene’s parents and family sincerely thank all relatives, friends, and Cornerstone staff for the cards, letters, and messages of sympathy received, and all the lovely floral tributes following her sudden and sad loss. They are also grateful to celebrant Stiùbhart MacChoille for his support and for conducting a fitting and loving tribute, and to The Bank and their staff for the efficient service and refreshments afterwards. A special thanks go to Ian Esselmont and his team for their excellent care and support before, during, and after the funeral. Finally, they thank everyone who paid their last respects and generously donated £240 to Cornerstone. Marlene is deeply missed.
