Grade 5. Brilliant feedback. And a lot for Antonine House Care Home to be proud of. 💚

Following its latest Care Inspectorate visit, Antonine House in Bearsden has been awarded a Grade 5, with positive feedback across the home from residents, relatives, colleagues and external professionals.

What stood out most?

Residents spoke highly of the team.

Relatives described colleagues as kind, responsive and people who genuinely know their loved ones.

Mealtimes were warm and well supported.

The café was praised for the atmosphere it creates for residents and visitors.

Care planning was detailed, clear and personal.

And when one resident became distressed during the visit, the inspector saw first-hand how calmly and effectively colleagues supported him.

That’s what sits behind the grade.

Not one big moment. Just good people, doing the right things consistently, across every part of the home.

A huge well done to June and the whole Antonine House team. 👏

Community is part of everyday life at Meallmore, and Kincaid House Care Home's Summer Family Fun Day brought that to life on Saturday.

Residents, families, colleagues and local supporters came together to raise £2,000 for Ardgowan Hospice. 💙

There was plenty to enjoy, including a raffle, tombola, bake sale, children’s games, face painting and live entertainment. The kitchen team also served a very popular BBQ throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who donated, joined in or helped make the event possible. It was a meaningful day for the Kincaid House community and a fantastic show of support for an important local cause. ✨

Everyday life at Meallmore is shaped by the people, interests and shared moments that make each home unique.

At St Modans Care Home, a recent visit from Amanda Penny brought residents together for an afternoon of live music. 🎶

Tambourines and pompoms were soon in hand, with residents joining in through singing and dancing throughout the performance.

It was a lively afternoon and a lovely example of the everyday connections that are part of life across Meallmore. Thank you to Amanda for another brilliant visit to St Modans. 💙

A Touch of Ladies' Day Glamour ✨

A reason to get together is never hard to find at Kynnaird House Care Home, but Ladies' Day and National Prosecco Day gave residents the perfect excuse.

With glasses raised, conversations flowing and plenty of catching up to do, residents spent the afternoon enjoying good company and the chance to celebrate together. It wasn't about the prosecco; it was about the people around the table and taking time to enjoy each other's company.

The room was full of chatter as friends shared stories, reminisced and enjoyed a relaxed afternoon together.

Sometimes the best days are the simplest ones, a chance to sit down, have a laugh and enjoy being surrounded by familiar faces. 🥂

Residents Get Creative with Flower Arranging at Kincaid House Care Home 💐✨

A wonderful morning of creativity and conversation recently took place at Kincaid House, as residents came together to enjoy a flower-arranging session using a beautiful selection of freshly donated blooms.

With flowers in full colour spread across the tables, residents carefully chose their favourites and created their own unique arrangements, each one reflecting their individual style and personality. The session was filled with friendly conversation, shared inspiration and plenty of smiles as everyone enjoyed spending time together.

Accompanied by a refreshing drink and good company, the activity provided a relaxing opportunity for residents to express their creativity while catching up with friends. The stunning bouquets created during the session are now bringing colour and cheer to rooms throughout the home.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who generously donated flowers and helped make the activity possible. It is through thoughtful contributions like these that we can continue creating meaningful experiences for our residents.

At Kincaid House, it's often the simple moments shared together that bring the greatest joy, and this was certainly one of them. 🌸

Howie Takes the Lead at Kelvinside Manor 💪✨

Residents at Kelvinside Manor enjoyed a wonderful exercise session recently, led by none other than resident Howie.

Drawing on years of experience with his own exercise routine, Howie confidently guided the group through a series of movements, encouraging everyone to get involved and enjoy the session together. His enthusiasm was infectious, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout.

The class was a great success, with residents enjoying both the physical activity and the opportunity to spend time together. Howie's leadership and encouragement made the session particularly special, and we're delighted that he has agreed to lead another class in the future.

At Kelvinside Manor, we are always proud to celebrate the talents, interests and experiences of our residents. Moments like these showcase the value of sharing skills, building confidence and creating meaningful connections within our home.

Well done, Howie, and thank you for leading such an enjoyable session. 👏

More Than Just Cars 🚘

The arrival of Stirling Classic Car Club sparked plenty of conversation at Airthrey Care Home, with residents and their families keen to get a closer look at the impressive collection of vehicles on display.

As everyone made their way around the cars, it wasn't long before stories started to surface. Memories of first cars, family road trips and favourite models were shared between residents, relatives and visitors, turning the afternoon into much more than a classic car showcase.

One of the highlights was the chance to sit inside some of the vehicles, bringing back memories and allowing residents to experience these beautifully cared-for classics up close.

A huge thank you to the members of Stirling Classic Car Club for spending the afternoon with us. It was wonderful to see so many conversations sparked, connections made, and stories shared, all through a shared appreciation of some truly timeless cars. ✨

Straight from the Auchtercrag House Care Home garden 🌱💚

Margaret has been making the most of harvest season, heading out to pick some of the vegetables that residents have helped grow throughout the year.

There’s something really satisfying about seeing a garden go from planting and tending to finally bringing something back inside, and Margaret’s latest haul certainly looks the part.

It’s a lovely example of the simple things that make everyday life at Auchtercrag feel meaningful: fresh air, a bit of purpose, staying connected to the seasons and enjoying the results of a little patience along the way.

Not bad for a trip to the garden. 👏
