Park View Care Home

Park View Care Home We're a care home in Ipswich where our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Where care and choice come first.

Everyone deserves genuine compassion, dignity and respect, and that's what our care team delivers, day in, day out.

It's Carers Appreciation Week and throughout the week we'll be introducing and celebrating our amazing carers. To kick it off, we'd like you to meet Lisa, one of our team leaders.

Lisa is an incredibly talented woman, a ballroom and Latin dancer, and she's brought that talent directly to our residents.

And here's the thing she'll tell you herself: she can't sing a note, but loves soul music. Something that's close to her heart in care when working with residents living with dementia, is music. It's the key to reaching someone when nothing else can, and in her own words "It's a truly magical moment when you see a resident with dementia light up to an old song and remember every lyric".
It's something we find truly powerful too.

She's been in care for twenty years now. It started on nights when her own children were small, and she worked her way up to her NVQ Level 5, worked at five different homes. But the qualifications aren't what make her Lisa. Ask anyone here.
She's the one who'll get down on the floor to help someone back to their room. She gets right into the moment, every time. We're incredibly grateful for Lisa.

Thank you, Lisa. 💙

Meet Spud, one of our residents here at Park View, and a man with a single, very clear ambition.

He wants to get back to Thailand. So he can walk to the bar. His words, not ours. 😄

If you're a regular around Park View, chances are you've met Spud already; you might even have bumped into him down the pub, watching his beloved Ipswich Town Football Club. And if you have, you'll know the thing about him that we can't help but admire: his sheer tenacity and will. He decided he was going to walk again, and that was that.

So he's been putting in the work. Alongside Shaun, our in-house strength and conditioning coach, Spud's been at it week after week, slowly, steadily, stubbornly.

And as you can see... he's slowly starting to walk again. 💙

Wow, what an incredible afternoon we had at Park View Care Home! 🎶💃✨

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Cristina Bee, who filled the room with fantastic music, energy, and smiles. From the very first song, she had everyone singing along, tapping their feet, and even getting up to dance! 🕺🎤

There was plenty of laughter, lots of happy memories, and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

Thank you, Cristina, for bringing so much joy and entertainment to our residents—we can’t wait to have you back again! ❤️🎵

Guess Who Came to Visit?! POODLES...?!

Fluffy. Friendly. And NOT what you'd expect! 😂

Our residents had the BEST afternoon meeting these gorgeous "alpacas" at Park View today... !

Honestly, the fluff had us all fooled! There were cuddles, strokes and plenty of giggles once the secret was out. The smiles said it all.

Some of our residents enjoyed a lovely outing to the Golden Days Café, kindly hosted by the Ipswich Town Foundation, a great chance for a cuppa, a chat and some good company.

Meanwhile, our team was hard at work bringing the garden to life for summer, adding plenty of colour ready for the sunny days.

We could not be prouder of our amazing Wellbeing Assistant, Gemma Carter!

Gemma has just completed the Walk 31 Miles in May challenge for Dementia UK, a mile a day, all in her own time and entirely off her own initiative. And here's the thing: Gemma is already on her feet most days, providing fantastic care to the people we support at Park View.

She didn't have to take this on. She simply saw a cause close to her heart and decided to do something about it, and we're so proud of her.

She set a goal of £250 and smashed it. 🎉

Every penny helps Dementia UK specialist Admiral Nurses support families living with dementia.

Thank you for everything you do, Gemma. You're one in a million.

A morning at Park View

A dog to fuss over. Someone kneeling down to take care of your feet. A menu handed to you, the choice yours. A hand held. A laugh that catches.
Small things.

But they're the things a morning is actually made of.

This morning, our residents at Park View Care Home enjoyed a lovely stroll to the local café and Kay’s Fruit & Veg shop, where they picked out some fresh fruit together.

Back at the home, we turned our purchases into delicious homemade smoothies for everyone to enjoy.

One of our residents shared, “All I would like to do is go shopping,” and we were delighted to make her wish come true. Seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces and helping them continue to enjoy the simple pleasures in life is what makes these moments so special.

A huge well done to our dedicated Wellbeing Team for creating meaningful experiences and supporting our residents to live life to the fullest every day. 💚🍓🍌🥤
