We had a wonderful visit today at our care home from a local bell ringing club, who came in to entertain our residents. It was a truly engaging and uplifting activity, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the experience and getting involved in the fun.

The atmosphere was full of smiles and laughter, and it was lovely to see so many of our residents taking part and enjoying something a bit different.

A huge thank you to the bell ringers for sharing their time and talent with us today—we would be delighted to welcome you back again in the future!

A huge well done to all the amazing team members from Barham Care Home who came together to complete the Midnight Walk in support of St Elizabeth Hospice 🌙💙

Taking on this incredible challenge together, the team showed fantastic spirit, determination and support for such a wonderful cause. We are so proud of everyone who took part and helped raise awareness and support for the amazing work carried out by St Elizabeth Hospice.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible nurses across Barham Care Home 💙

Your compassion, dedication, professionalism, and kindness make a difference every single day. From providing exceptional care and support to bringing comfort and reassurance to residents and families, your hard work never goes unnoticed.

We are so proud of the amazing nursing teams who go above and beyond to deliver person-centred care with dignity, respect, and warmth.

🐾❤️ A Very Special Visitor ❤️🐾

We were delighted to welcome Alfie, our much-loved PAT dog 🐶

Alfie is a regular visitor to Barham Care Home, and each time he brings plenty of smiles, cuddles, and comfort to our residents, making everyone’s day that little bit brighter.

While Alfie was busy spreading joy, we also had a paramedic crew visit one of our residents. They couldn’t resist stopping for a photo with our four-legged star! 🚑🐾

It was such a lovely moment and a reminder that heroes come in all shapes and forms – from our amazing emergency service teams to our wonderful therapy dog, Alfie.

Thank you to our paramedics for everything you do, and thank you Alfie for always bringing happiness wherever you go

Alison is taking part in Brave the Shave!

One of our amazing members of staff, Alison, is having her head shaved by her husband on Monday 4th May in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
We’d like to wish her the very best of luck and say how proud we are of her for taking on this challenge for such a wonderful cause.
You’ll see her back at work on Tuesday wearing her Brave the Shave t-shirt.

Alison said “Life is too short, why not shave my hair, other people lose so much more”
What a wonderful inspiration to us all 🥰

✨ Meet Mark ✨

We’re delighted to introduce Mark, who has been part of the Barham Care Centre team for the past two years.

Mark has recently been promoted to Senior Carer, and you’ll now see him supporting the nursing team in his new role — a well-deserved step up!

With over 15 years of experience in care, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to everything he does. When asked what he enjoys most about working at Barham, he said it’s the brilliant team — something we’re incredibly proud of too.

Mark is also going the extra mile by taking part in the Midnight Walk this May, showing his commitment both in and out of work. And if he could have any superpower? 🦸‍♂️ He’d choose super healing — which feels very fitting for someone so devoted to caring for others.

We’d like to take a moment to recognise one of our amazing volunteers, Keith 👏

Keith is a fantastic member of the Barham Care Home family. He’s here most days, always happy to lend a hand and can often be found pottering about in the gardens, helping to keep them looking lovely for everyone to enjoy 🌿

His kindness, dedication and friendly presence make such a difference to daily life in the home, and we are so grateful for everything he does ❤️

Here he is pictured with his lovely wife Ann, who is a resident here with us – a truly special part of our community.

🌙✨ Barham Care Home Supporting St Elizabeth’s Hospice Midnight Walk ✨🌙

We’re proud to share that members of our team at Barham Care Home will be taking part in the St Elizabeth’s Hospice Midnight Walk on 16th May 💙

Starting at Christchurch Park, the walk will take participants through the streets of Ipswich and up to the peaceful hospice grounds, where there will be time to pause, reflect and remember loved ones.

As they make their way back into the town centre and cross the finish line, they’ll know they’ve been part of something truly meaningful and special. ✨

🌿☀️ A Lovely Day Out at Barham Care Home ☀️🌿

Hayley and Tracy from our wonderful Activities Team were out yesterday with a few of our residents, enjoying a trip to Needham Lake. 💚

They had a lovely walk around the lake, taking in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings, followed by a well-earned stop at the Duck and Teapot for a cuppa ☕🦆

Days like these remind us how special it is to get out and about, especially as we start to see the signs of spring 🌸

We’re all looking forward to warmer weather, brighter days and lighter nights ahead! ✨::
