🎶🎤 Barham Choir have been at it again! 🎤🎶

Our fabulous residents have been singing their hearts out today! ❤️🎶 There’s nothing quite like a good old singalong to put a smile on everyone’s face.

We’ve had plenty of singing, laughter and a few questionable attempts at hitting the high notes! 😂🎵

The atmosphere was absolutely lovely, with everyone joining in and enjoying the music together. Who needs a concert hall when we have our very own Barham Choir right here at home? 🎤👏

A big well done to our wonderful singers — we think you’re all stars! ⭐🎶❤️

☀️ A Sunny Day in Felixstowe! 🌊🍦

One of the lovely things about being based at Barham Care Home is being just a short drive from the beautiful Suffolk coast! 💙

Some of the people we support recently enjoyed a sunny trip to Felixstowe. They took a leisurely stroll along the promenade, enjoyed the fresh sea air and made the most of the sunshine. ☀️🌊

And, of course, no seaside trip would be complete without a delicious ice cream! 🍦😋

We’re lucky to have the coast so close by, giving us plenty of opportunities to enjoy days out, explore our local area and make wonderful memories together. 💙

🌺🌴 Aloha from Hawaii!🌴🌺

Yesterday, we brought a little taste of Hawaii to the home as part of our Armchair Travels experience, and what a fantastic time we had! ☀️💕

Our Hawaiian shirts were out, the mocktails were flowing 🍹, and there were plenty of smiles, laughter and sunshine as we enjoyed a fun-filled Hawaiian-themed lunchtime together.

It was wonderful to see the people we support, families and colleagues all getting into the spirit of the day. From Hawaiian-inspired treats to tropical drinks and plenty of laughter, there was a real holiday atmosphere in the home! 🌺🍹🌴

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Hawaiian adventure so special. 💛

Summer Party Update 🌺☀️
We’re so sorry to let you know that, unfortunately, we have had to postpone our Summer Party today as our entertainer, Adie, is unwell and unable to attend.
We are currently waiting for confirmation as to whether Adie will be able to join us next week, and we will confirm the new date as soon as we have the entertainment arranged.
Please don’t let this stop you from visiting the home today if you were planning to come! 💕 We will still be enjoying a lovely afternoon together, including Armchair Travels – and today we’re off to Hawaii! 🌴🌺
Our summer raffle will now take place on Thursday next week, with the exact arrangements to be confirmed once we have our entertainment organised.
We’re really sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your understanding.
In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and we look forward to seeing you all today! ☀️💛

🥊 A Different Kind of Fitness at Barham Care Centre! 🥊
Yesterday, the people we support enjoyed a fantastic Boxercise session, and it certainly brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and energy to the home!

Everyone got involved, with residents taking part at their own pace while enjoying the fun and encouragement from those around them. It was wonderful to see visitors, family members, and staff joining in too, making it a real community activity.
The session was filled with laughter, movement, and lots of positive encouragement. It was a brilliant way to promote physical activity, wellbeing, and social interaction in a fun and engaging way.

A huge thank you to our Boxercise instructor for leading such an enjoyable session. It was such a success that we're already looking forward to welcoming them back for another visit! 🥊😊

🌿 Exciting progress in our courtyard! 🌿

Although we haven't been able to enjoy our courtyard this summer, we're delighted to share that things are finally starting to change.

This week, we've begun clearing the garden, and we want to say a huge thank you to our amazing volunteer, Keith, who has worked tirelessly all week to get everything underway. Today, Rob joined him to help with the heavier lifting and tackle the final few jobs.

Their hard work is already making a huge difference, and we're so grateful for the time, effort, and kindness they've given to help transform this space for our residents.

We're hoping that over the next month we'll be able to reopen the courtyard, giving our residents and families a beautiful outdoor area to enjoy once again. And what better way to celebrate than with a garden opening barbecue? 🍔🌭☀️

We can't wait to share more updates with you as the transformation continues.

🌞 Summer Raffle – Support Our Garden Project! 🌞

Our Summer Raffle is coming up, and we'd love your support!

If you're visiting the home, please make sure you pick up some raffle tickets. We also welcome any donations of raffle prizes if you're able to help.

We already have some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including:

All money raised will go towards our new garden, which is currently being renovated. We can't wait to create a beautiful outdoor space for our residents to enjoy, and every ticket purchased will help make this happen.

🎶 Our Residents’ Choir – Singing, Smiling & Making Memories ❤️

There’s something truly special about hearing our residents come together in song.

For over a year, our wonderful Residents’ Choir at Barham Care Home has been bringing friendship, laughter and music to our home. Every choir member has their own songbook, and they take great pride in learning the lyrics and performing together.

This afternoon was choir practice, and today’s classic was the timeless “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn. 🎵❤️ A song that brings back so many treasured memories and always has everyone singing along.

Music has a wonderful way of connecting people, sparking memories and lifting spirits, and we’re so proud of our amazing choir and the joy they bring to everyone at Barham.

🎤 Well done to all of our fantastic singers – we can’t wait for the next performance! 👏💕

Your compassion, dedication, professionalism, and kindness make a difference every single day. From providing exceptional care and support to bringing comfort and reassurance to residents and families, your hard work never goes unnoticed.

We are so proud of the amazing nursing teams who go above and beyond to deliver person-centred care with dignity, respect, and warmth.
