Thistle Help Thistle Help are mobility specialists based in Irvine, Ayrshire. Thistle Help are committed to staff training on a continuous basis.

We supply a range of equipment including mobility scooters, wheelchairs, powerchairs, walking aids, riser recliners, adjustable beds, daily living aids and wide fitting footwear. Thistle Help Ltd was founded in 2007 by George Ruddick and Laura Hays in order to provide a comprehensive range of assisted living aids that truly reflects the needs of those who require support for care and mobility:

Based in Ayrshire, Thistle Help's premises include a spacious showroom with parking outside. Staff regularly attend courses to develop their skills in order to provide an even better service. Courses undertaken include Moving & Handling, Trusted Adviser, Managing Development and numerous sales courses.

It was lovely to see Sarah today from Whiteleys Retreat 💛 Our coffee morning was a huge success raising £1,935 for such an amazing charity. Well done to all the team for their efforts and most importantly, thank you once again to everyone who supported the event. We couldn't have done it without you all 😁

A huge thank you to Thistle Help in Irvine for raising an amazing £1,935.00 at their recent very successful coffee morning.

The whole team put in so much effort and we are very grateful to them and everyone who supported it. From the showroom set up beautifully, loads of delicious home baking and an array of raffle prizes, all their guests were treated to a wonderful event.

A wee throwback to when George, Siobhan and Laura went to London to the British Chamber Awards. Siobhan was nominated for Young Person in Business through Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce. We were so proud of her being nominated for it as she worked hard to achieve it. She is still with us 18 years on as our Operations Manager and tells us what to do on a daily basis 🤣

Donna has many different hats at Thistle Help, she carries out all aspects of administration, overseas health & safety tasks and is one of our hire co-ordinators. SSAFA Ayrshire Branch visited our showroom recently to present an award to Laura in recognition of the work she has done in supporting SSAFA. Laura was delighted to receive this recognition but said she is just doing her job and with the support of Team Thistle it allows them to provide a great service and to support the veterans when selecting the correct equipment for their needs.

Well done to Sue from SSAFA who also received an award in recognition of the work she does as Treasurer.

We love working with local charities & organisations who provide support in many different ways 💜

Congratulations to Ayrshire's Laura and Sue, who have each been honoured with a Regional Recognition Award from SSAFA Scotland.

Retired tax manager and RAF veteran Sue (pictured right) is treasurer of SSAFA Ayrshire Branch, playing a key role in the smooth running of branch operations and facilitating effective delivery of branch support.

Meanwhile Laura's award is in recognition of her continued dedication to person-centred mobility support for the local veteran community, as Director of Thistle Help.
