Can I use the probiotic cleaning products in my Vax cleaner? 🐾

It’s a question we’ve been asked, so of course, we put it to Joe!

If you use a Vax or a similar carpet and upholstery cleaner, you might be wondering whether you can use our probiotic cleaning products in the machine too.

The answer is yes! 🙌🏼

We recommend using our Provilan Probiotic Floor Cleaner Concentrate at a 1:100 dilution, which works out at around one capful of product per litre of water.

Most machines hold around 4 litres of water, so you’d use approximately 4 capfuls of cleaner. Just make sure you check the capacity of your particular machine first.

One important thing to remember: add the probiotic cleaner directly to the water, rather than the machine's separate cleaning solution or mixing tank.

Our probiotic cleaners work a little differently to traditional chemical cleaning products. The beneficial bacteria get to work on organic dirt and residues, helping to tackle mess and unwanted odours at the source rather than simply masking them🦠

Perfect for those everyday pet messes, muddy paw prints and keeping carpets and upholstery feeling fresh! 🐶

It's Q&A time and Joe answers a very interesting question about their itchy dog 🐕

This lovely customer has been using our probiotic shampoo on their Cavachon due to atopic allergy flare ups. The shampoo works but between washes the itchiness comes back.

Joe recommends LUCAA+ Allergen Spray daily, this can be sprayed directly onto the skin and brushed through the coat. Starting with twice a day is ideal!

It's not just the skin we need to pay attention to, it's the environment.

The Allergen Spray can be used on their bedding too, which we highly recommend!

You are what you eat… and so are our pets 🐕

We all know that what we eat can have an impact on our health, but have you ever thought about what your dog or cat’s diet could be doing to their microbiome?

The gut is home to trillions of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and other microbes. Together, they form a complex ecosystem that plays an important role in digestion, nutrient metabolism and supporting the immune system.

What goes into the bowl can influence that ecosystem 🥣

What should I do if my pet has hot spots?

If you’ve ever noticed a red, sore or weepy patch suddenly appear on your dog’s skin, you may have come across a hot spot 🔴

Hot spots (also known as acute moist dermatitis or wet pyoderma) are a common skin problem in dogs. They can appear almost overnight and are often made worse by licking, scratching or chewing at an already irritated area 🐕

There can be lots of reasons why a hot spot develops, from allergies and insect bites to moisture, skin irritation or underlying skin problems, so it’s always important to look at why it’s happening, particularly if your dog is experiencing recurring hot spots.

So, where can probiotics help? 🦠
