Every day is su***de prevention day 🤍 Today and always.
To everyone…
Please be kind. We literally have no idea what someone else might be carrying.
Sometimes people who are suffering may seem angry, rude, volatile, irritable, distant or “difficult”.
Other times, the person who appears the happiest, funniest and most confident in the room may be masking enormous pain.
There isn’t one way that suffering looks.
The person who cuts you up in traffic. The person you think is rude at the checkout. The person who seems to have everything together. We simply don’t know what is happening in somebody else’s life.
So wherever we can, let’s choose compassion. 🤍
And if you’re feeling suicidal right now…
Please please don’t keep those thoughts to yourself.
Life can and DOES change, even when it feels impossible right now.
Let it out. Say it out loud. Tell a friend, family member, professional or even a stranger anonymously on the phone. Allow someone else into what you’re experiencing. Silence and secrecy only breeds shame.
Samaritans are always there on 116 123.
You are worthy of compassion, even if you cannot feel that right now. You matter and your life has value.
Sending love to everyone who has lost somebody to su***de, and to everyone who has lived with suicidal thoughts or is living with them today. 🤍
