Bake From The Heart

Most of what we think, do and say is out of conscious awareness. Deeply ingrained patterns of thinking and behaviour create a life that may be the one you seek and it may not!!

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
Carl Jung

Therapy enables you to shine a light in the dark and see clearly what has been invisible till now.

Choose Organic

It was a pleasure to unwrap these little beauties when I got into work today. I have been buying top quality carrier oils from for 16 years now and love the wide variety available which allows me to optimise the health of any skin type.

Everything you put onto the skin is directly absorbed into the bloodstream, so be sure to avoid synthetic chemicals wherever possible as these are one of the biggest hormone disrupters. And it’s not just individual chemicals, a cocktail of synthetic substances from body care products, toothpaste, makeup and household cleaning items all add up to a shocking amount of synthetic chemicals being put into your body every single day.

Do yourself a favour, detox your bathroom today!!

Pursuit of Happiness Pie

I first saw Waitress in London when it came off Broadway. It clearly had a big following from the number of people who dressed up for opening night; two hours later I understood why.

Jenna is an expert pie maker who works in Joes Diner with friends Becky and Dawn. The show explores themes of friendship, love, loss, grief, disappointment and being born again in the experience of becoming a mother.

Jenna navigates her messy life through the creation of pies and baking. That wonderful alchemy which blends ingredients, flavours, feelings and love.

Sara Bareilles is a brilliant songwriter and tells the story of our characters lives through the stunningly beautiful lyrics of her songs.

Sugar, butter, flour,
what pie will you make?

Fields Of Gold

There was a programme I used to watch as a kid which began by looking through a window. The window had different shapes and took you on an exciting adventure each day.

Life is an unfolding adventure which can change in an instant and you never know what’s around the corner, who you will meet and how this can change your life forever. You may find a new career path, meet a new partner, the father of your children, or decide to move to another part of the world.

It’s easy to play safe, to stick with what you know, to tell yourself it’s a bad idea, but if you never move beyond the safe constraints of your backyard, hometown or country, you will never know what life has to offer on the other side of the field!!

With so much love - Vicki ❤️❤️

Growing Together

No matter how independent you are or how much you think you should be able to go it alone, we all need someone who encourages us, supports us and who we know when the chips are down will be there, no matter what.

Take a moment to appreciate a partner, a friend, a parent, a work colleague, someone you barely know, who when the s**t really hit the fan was there for you through and through.

And it won’t be the same person every time, it cannot be. We all have our limits, our own stuff to deal with and a limited amount of energy.

Be grateful for those who have your back, who may not have been there in the past and may not be there in the future. They’re here now!!

Summer Sundae

In these times of relentless stress and bombardment of the senses, we all need a regular dose of quiet time, in a safe space, with external stimulation dialled down to zero!!

I have been contemplating not only rest, but our inability to notice what we need when we’re constantly running from one thing to the next.

Summer holidays are the perfect time for a reset. An opportunity away from the regular routine of work, home, kids, caring for elderly parents and whatever else you juggle on a daily basis. Habits take time to embed and if you do have children, the six week break from school is the perfect time to embed healthier habits for the whole family.

Till the middle of September I am offering a two hour energy healing session with a bonus Tropic gift. Two hours to detach yourself completely from the rest of your day, immersed in inner stillness, allowing the subtle energies to integrate.

Energy healing is a deeply relaxing non invasive treatment which is given fully clothed seated or lying down. It works to release energy blocks within the body which left untreated will likely lead to ill health. A reset for the mind, body and soul which leaves you calm, refreshed, energised and in a much better place to do whatever you must.

Celebrate Success

Walking through the campus of Leicester University watching families gathering for graduation ceremonies, I am reminded of the need to celebrate success, not only at the end of a long project like a degree, but the small wins, the little gains, the daily rituals when you stay the course and keep showing up for yourself.

Many people start and give up. It takes stamina, determination, steadfastness, self belief and discipline to keep going. You need to keep your goal in sight and remind yourself why. Without a good enough reason for doing anything, it’s easy to throw in the towel.

✨ Know your reason why.
✨ Keep focussed.
✨ Keep going.

Seed Thought

There’s something about being with people who know your history. A quiet comfort in shared experience and not needing to explain. A relaxed sense of acceptance without judgement and realising just how refreshing and unusual this is.

We live in a world of comparison, opinion and assumption. People assume things without knowledge, without asking and without any foundation for their superior and dismissive attitude.

We talked about many things including su***de, self awareness, denial, kindness and compassion. A question which has been going round in my head the last couple of weeks is whether denial needs a shift in consciousness to bring something into the light and how we enable this more widely if we are to live in a society with love and equity at the heart, and less of a two tier system!!

Any thoughts?

Stage of Life

Leicester friends, if you’re at a loose end this evening get yourself to CURVE theatre, for an evening of foot stomping comeraderie at The Jungle. Choir of Man is about a group of men, their local pub and the anthems which reference their lives. Friendship, connection, support and what we have lost in this country with thousands of local pubs turning into food and family friendly spaces, rather than a place to enjoy a pint with your mates, a chat and a song around the piano.

A love letter to the past and an intention to make time for those you cherish while you can.

The show ends by drawing attention to deaths by su***de which in the UK is more than 7,000 a year, 20 lives a day. Su***de is the biggest killer of men under the age of 50. A poignant reminder of the need to check in on each other and protect spaces that allow sharing!!

Heatwave Health

We are in the middle of another wave of hot sunny days and very warm nights. Keeping hydrated, replacing lost tissue salts and resting when you can, are all important health promoting actions which support and work with the body, rather than against it. Several nights of disturbed sleep can be hugely disruptive to the endocrine system, so make sure you are supporting and enabling health, rather than working against it!!
