Following on from our earlier post, here’s a look at the spectacular procession of Ferraris, driven by John’s friends and family, as they led the cortège to the service chapel.

A fitting final tribute to John’s great passion for these iconic Italian cars, which have provided so many joyful experiences and memories for John and his friends.

Pam and the family have expressed their gratitude to all those who attended the service, especially those who joined the procession with their vehicles so immaculately turned out, and especially to those who travelled such a long way to be there.

Yesterday, it was our absolute honour to conduct the funeral of Alan’s good friend, John Wellard.

Although it was a deeply sad farewell, John’s zest for life shone through. The funeral was led by a spectacular procession of Ferraris, driven by John’s friends and family, and directed by Alan. A beautifully poignant service followed, with John carried into the chapel on the shoulders of his close friends, with the coffin specially made to feature the Ferrari Prancing Horse emblem in silver.

John was a much-loved husband to Pam, and was her best friend for over 60 years. He was a devoted and beloved Father to Vicky, Grandfather to Tom and Sam, and Father-in-law to Dan. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and many friends.

Donations in John’s memory can be made to Macmillan Cancer Support or HASAG (support with asbestos related disease) at: https://johnanthonywellard.muchloved.com

For those looking to light up the sky... Did you know you can have ashes made into fireworks? ✨

At Alex Jones Funeral Directors we are able to arrange a firework farewell as an extra special final tribute, as an alternative to or in addition to scattering ashes.

The process is simple and involves the ashes of a loved one being carefully incorporated into specially made fireworks. These can then be privately launched or we are able to arrange a memorial service with a choreographed display, creating a truly memorable celebration of life and dazzling final farewell.

If this is something you would like to know more about, please get in touch with our team on 01342 832 534, or visit our website www.alexjonesfuneraldirectors.co.uk

We have local offices in Lingfield, Edenbridge, Oxted and Forest Row, however our team are able to travel and facilitate funerals anywhere in the country, as well as repatriations to and from abroad.
