Crosby Group RDA provides fun, therapy and accessible sport for disabled children and adults through horse riding. Registered Charity No. 1074270

Crosby RDA was founded in 1974 and is a charity which provides horse-riding therapy solely for those with disabilities. No matter what the disability is and no matter what their age, everyone is welcome to have the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve with us here at Crosby RDA. Crosby RDA costs over £30,000 a year in running costs and is a self funded charity run entirely on charitable donations, donations from our rides and the fundraising work done by our volunteers. Any support people can give is very much appreciated. If you think you can do a coffee morning, a stall at an event, even send in unused gifts, bottles, and items for stalls at our open days etc. that would be fantastic, please send us an email if you think you can help in any way to: [email protected]

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Brandon, who recently lost his battle with sudden severe colic at just 5 years old.

Although Brandon was only at Crosby RDA for a few short months, he made a lasting impression on everyone here. From the moment he arrived, his calm temperament, gentle nature, and love for affection made him a firm favorite with our team and an ideal fit for our RDA program.

We are immensely grateful for the time we had with Brandon and the positive impact he made during his time with us. He will be deeply missed by the entire Crosby RDA community.

Our new horse Brandon is such a sweetheart! And some of our volunteers have been very busy training him both under saddle and in hand. He’s very settled in his stable and in the field with his pals.

As a 5 year old he is still learning the job but we all agree he’s doing a super job and can’t wait to see him on the rides with our RDA riders on him. Watch this space for further updates 🐴🐴

Our gorgeous boy 💙🐴

We are deeply saddened to share that we have said goodbye to our handsome, much-loved resident, Buster.

Joining us in 2023 after a remarkable career with Crosby Riding for the Disabled Association, "Mr. Dependable" spent years bringing joy, confidence, and independence to so many riders. Whether helping riders mount safely from a wheelchair or patiently offering a quiet grooming session, Buster was a truly extraordinary horse who made a lasting difference in countless lives.

Buster gave so much during his working life, and his retirement was filled with the same affection he had shown to so many others. He may have spent his final years taking life a little easier, but he never stopped being the special horse he had always been.

Though we miss him dearly, his memory lives on in all the lives he touched. Thank you, Buster, for your remarkable legacy and gentle heart. Rest peacefully. HTx 💚

We invited volunteers, riders and carers to join us for our Crosby RDA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

It was a brilliant evening, not only reflecting on an incredible year, but looking forward to the next one.

The pavillion was full to the brim, with great conversation, and exciting plans for the future.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along—our incredible community is at the heart of everything we do, and we couldn't accomplish any of it without you!

We had a lovely day at the RDA fun dog show today rosettes and prizes all around…we even ended the day with a little dog jumping. We raised £621.34. Every penny will go towards looking after our lovely horses and ponies. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us, with extra thanks to Chris and Paula our judges 🏆we hope to see you all again next year.

Yesterday we received the sad news that our lovely Buster had finally jumped over the rainbow bridge. He was a firm favourite for many years at RDA with riders and carers and competed regionally and nationally for us. He was 24 years old and had enjoyed over 3 years of retirement at The Horses Trust. Where some of our volunteers regularly went to visit him. 💙🌈🐴 fly high gorgeous boy.
